This place was so warm and welcoming. We had a very excellent experience. The staff was amazing and my son tuxedo for Prom was top notch even altering changes were very timely. Eventhough we had storms that pushed Prom back a week the company wad very understanding. I would refer any and all I know to shop with J Maries thank you Ladies awesome superior job. Sincerely

Wonderful experience renting a tux for my son's first prom. They guided us through the process and were very helpful and professional throughout. Great experience-from the first phone call, getting him fitted, and picking up. Highly recommend.

I had the worst interaction with this place today. The staff was polite enough, but their fees and policies are predatory.
Everywhere else I've ever gone for a fitting as part of a wedding party does not request money beforehand. J Marie's will charge you $50 (plus an extra 3% for using a credit card). I was upset at first with the notable sticker shock for the rental costing $250+ (much more than any other place I've gone, even in St. Louis). I asked if anything could be removed from the rental, to which I was told "Yes." This was essentially a lie, since they went behind my back to put those expenses on the groom of the wedding rather than remove them as they'd mentioned.
When I learned J Marie's had gone behind my back on this front, I called for clarification, but instead got an explanation of how well they knew the groom's mother and for how long. Such things shouldn't impact business practices, nor should I get a lecture for arriving for a fitting unscheduled, when I was totally unaware of any scheduling process until over an hour after I'd left the shop.
I will say this much for J Marie's. They refunded the rental fee after I canceled it, though they decided to keep $50 of my money for themselves.
If you do not wish to be treated this way by a formal wear shop, please find another provider.
Addendum: They were so kind to text me later that they were keeping $50 of my money. I have a word for that: THEFT.

We’ve been looking for a dress for prom for a long time now. We went everywhere around our hometown and could not find a dress, especially in my sizing. I cried many tears trying to find the dress for me. As a last resort, we went to J. Marie’s. From the start, the employees were so kind and helpful. She pulled lots of dresses for me that she thought I would like. We get to the end of the dress lineup and I was feeling hopeless. However, she pulled a dress she thought I would like and it was the one! I cried and cried over finally finding my dress. What was even better, they cried with me. Thank you J. Marie’s! We will be back!

Absolutely LOVE this dress shop!! Would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone! I walked in worried I wouldn’t find a dress for a red carpet event that was only a month away. Jmarie’s staff was so helpful, super friendly, and found my perfect dress immediately! The first dress they pulled was STUNNING! I tried it on and knew it was my perfect dress for our red carpet event. They had it altered and ready for me to pickup within 24 hours!! I also found my shoes there and they went perfectly with my beautiful dress. I will always go straight to Jmarie’s now instead of traveling hours away. They get the same beautiful inventory as any other dress shop hours away. I’m blown away with their amazing hospitality, and the stunning dresses they had available. I will forever shop, support, and recommend them for every special event in the future! ?

We found the perfect homecoming dress for my daughter here at J Marie’s Formal Affairs. We were welcomed into the store by friendly staff. My daughter was asked a series of the right questions to help narrow down the selection of gorgeous dresses and the very first dress she tried on she fell in love with. She was able to try on several others, but knew the first one was IT! The staff was patient with my daughter and extremely helpful. The shop has a beautiful storefront and the inside is just as adorable. Plus they have a large selection to choose from. I highly recommend J Marie’s Formal Affairs for your dress shopping needs.
