I rented a car for 24 hours from an Illinois Budget office to drive down to Chesterfield to pick up a new car I had purchased in the area. I picked up the car and dropped it off at this location less than 4 hrs later. This office added a 1-hr late charge to my bill that resulted in an extra $60 fee. My guess is they though I wouldn't notice the additional fee. Luckily I had timestamped credit card charges to get a refund.Save yourself the time and hassle of dealing with customer service after they scam you and stay as far away as possible!!!

Terrible customer service, didn’t answer the phone so I had to come in and then clerk gave me false information, over charged me when I was late after telling them and seeing the day rate was $90 he charged me double

Spent 6 days trying to get Budget to email me a receipt for my rental. I called their customer support, sent emails, and submitted customer support requests. On 3 occasions, I was told the receipt would be a. Sent within 20 minutes b. Sent within an hour and c. Sent within 2-4 hours. The email was never received. It took my 66 year old retired father going to the pickup location (I no longer live here) and demanding a copy to resolve the issue and he emailed it to me BEFORE Budget did.In addition to TERRIBLE customer service, they will also force you to buy their "insurance" so a $600 rental becomes $950.DON'T RENT FROM BUDGET IF YOU NEED RECEIPTS FOR EXPENSE REPORTS, YOU WILL BE IGNORED!

Employee was nice. Their policies discourage payment and make it as if they don't want the sale even though you have the money. Bend over backwards to give them business. Very inconvenient and unpleasant experience. Do not recommend and go somewhere else. I know will be seeking somewhere else to spend wmy money next time. Horrible.

Be cautious when renting from this Budget. They don’t inspect their cars nor do they maintenance them THEN try to scam customers into paying for prior damages. Document everything, take photos of before and after and be sure to be on time. They will charge for anything and everything they can.

Great place to rent a car. Simple and quick! I started the process all online, uploaded my drivers license and all. Was in their office for pick up less than 10 mins and would have been even less if the gentleman and I weren't to have carried on a nice conversation. ;-) This place is much smaller than surrounding rentals but perfect for us locals needing an emergency car!

Better bring your stopwatch if you are going to use the Chesterfield Budget Rent-A-Car! I am a loyal customer who usually returns my vehicles early, but the one time I barely went over, I got charged for an entire additional day. Expect as much mercy from Karl the Manager as you would from a Byzantine warlord. He'll have Budget slice, dice, and debit your bank account with extra charges so fast you won't even be able to say "consumer protection."

So picking up the car was great. Excellent service and the lady even gave me advice/opinions about areas to check out in STL and great areas to live in. The car was great too. It was just a bummer that I left my brand new phone mount in the car when I returned the car, and then when I claimed it from the lost and found a few days after I dropped the car off, I got it back in broken condition. I was told I can't be reimbursed for it without proof that it wasn't broken before returning it, but why would I have proof if I wasn't expecting to forget it or for it to break. ("Let me just take a picture of this phone mount in case I forget it in the car", said no one.) The part that holds the phone was loose and came off like nothing when I got it back. 30 bucks down the drain. It just left a bad taste with the company, and it sucks because I actually liked Avis, but this memory will always pop up when the name Avis comes up. Anyways, you get different experiences depending on who you're being helped by and who handled your items. So it is what it is. Besides that everything was great, but how customers are dealt with in "small" cases like this says a lot about the company's value on customer satisfaction.

This was one of the best rental car experiences I've ever had. The agent worked with me and my company. I needed the rental while I was in St. Louis MO but my company was paying for it. We are a small company and they issue Individual company credit cards. So I had the one company card on me but it wasn't in my name but it was the card they used to pay for the reservation. The gentle let the company's accountant, whose name is on the card, fax over a copy of her driver's license and a sugned affidavit saying I was authorized to use the card. I was renting the car for 3 weeks and did not have enough money on my personal credit card to pay for the reservation otherwise I would have done that. But the gentleman at Budget was very helpful and really helped me out. Enterprise let me book the car using the company card but once they saw that my ID did not the name of the card, even with the my company talking to them and promising to fax the affidavit and card owner info they refused to let me pick the car up AND THEY CHARGED ME FOR CANCELING THE RESERVATION LAST MINUTE. I will never use Enterprise again and will only use Budget. Best customer service and EXCELLENT car return experience. It took about 5 minutes to return the car at the busy airport return lot. BEST. CAR. RENTAL. EXPERIENCE. EVER.

Worked with Karl to get a moving truck through Budget (moving to WI), and he was very helpful and went the extra mile on our behalf! Working with Budget can sometimes be difficult, but Karl certainly does everything he can to help!
