As a realtor, I’ve worked with Tony Roppa numerous times. He always does a great job! Quick pre-approvals and very responsive to calls and questions. He’s one of the few lenders that still shows up to closings, which my buyers greatly appreciate. Guild has a great follow up program that includes Tony and myself on all mailing/emails, etc… Don’t hesitate to use Guild Mortgage and Tony Roppa as your preferred lender!

Melissa was extremely helpful during the entire process. I also worked with Jaime M. who was helpful as well. Melissa turn around time was well above my expectations in regards to questions I had. Anything I had a questions about was answered in less than 5 minutes and I never had to wait around. I couldn't be more thankful!

Let me start off by saying that Bryan did a terrific job helping me through the initial pre-approval process, and answering all my questions. After I put my offer in, the appraisal was ordered almost instantly. It really did feel like I was in good hands. Where things started going downhill was the underwriting/final approval process. About a week before closing, I was asked to submit documents. After submitting documents, I was issued a loan commitment letter (the typical process). Then, the day before closing (several days later), I was informed that even more documents were needed (ASAP) to close. I did provide the documents, but was shocked, as I had thought that based on the commitment letter, the loan was approved. I was willing to let this slide however, because I figured the underwriting department was very busy with an onslaught of applications. What put me over the edge was the fact that I was asked for another paystub (again ASAP) after closing had already been completed. I was told "sorry, covid has shortened our timelines." Somehow, in both cases, an oversight by the underwriting department became my emergency. I wish the employees handling my application had been more forthright with what was needed throughout the process, rather than waiting until the last minute to double check that everything was taken care of (AFTER CLOSING!!). COVID-19 has become an overused catch-all excuse for poor customer service, and that is unfortunate. I will likely look elsewhere for my next mortgage, which is unfortunate, because Bryan was awesome. But I do not want to repeat the rollercoaster of stress caused by the experience I had.

My trusted coworker and friend referred me to Jack Buck after I talked with him about the concerns I had with the broker who was previously assisting with my mortgage.During our first phone call, Jack answered my questions, explained the process, and set realistic expectations of how the process would play out. He put me at ease; I trusted him.I am now the owner of a beautiful condominium

Their preferred mortgage company, Guild Mortgage, is absolutely HORRIBLE to do business with. They refuse to speak to me or answer my emails. However, they have no issue taking my money every month. I am planning on buying a new house this year, but will NOT be going through Cornerstone again (Jack Buck, Jr.) to save myself the grief of dealing with this lousy Guild Mortgage Company. STAY FAR AWAY FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE FOLKS! There are plenty of other lenders out there that respect their customers and will actually speak to them when they have questions or need assistance.
