Purchased a Miss Hullings cake and it was the most dry cake I have ever eaten. That is not the recipe I remember and my recommendation to Straub’s Market is discontinued that product immediately! We threw that expensive $19.99 cake away. Overall I still love Straub’s.

Many people make Gooey Butter Cake with cream cheese these days, but the original St. Louis recipe, dating back to the 1930s, doesn't include it. Straub's Gooey Butter Cake is a great example of the traditional recipe (bakers' formula) St Louis Gooey Butter.

Straub's is a quaint and very organized offering an abundance of gourmet foods. My favorite is the chicken salad and the varied selection of sandwiches and dips.

Employees need trained very disappointing you ask 3 employees and nobody has any idea how to help you.

High end grocery store.
This grocery has prepared food such as honey BBQ chicken , sashimi / sushi , chicken salad etc and butcher’s counter.
We have tried their prepared foods and salad it’s good. The only downside is their fried chicken is not tender enough.
It’s a relatively small grocery , so don’t expect this store has a wide range selection.

I come to this Straubs daily and today November 27, 2024 the lady in the bakery was so rude and nasty I don't know what her issues were. But her working at Straubs with that attitude and horrible customer service is not the job for her. Straubs use to be known for the great customer service 🙄 but things are truly going down hill.

It is crazy that I can’t buy Budweiser beer at any Love’s truck stop anywhere across Missouri, but I can find it at the Straub’s in Clayton. And yes Love’s had Bud light, but as the FedEx guy said, they didn’t have bud heavy.

I went to the deli section at lunch to order a sandwich and was dismissively directed to the pre made sandwiches. My response that the type of sandwich I wanted was not in the pre made section was met with contempt.
