Moonies Resort & Restaurant offers old fashioned fun and a refreshing dive bar atmosphere at the lake. It is not commercial at all, with a super fun atmosphere and very reasonable prices. The food is really good, including amazing crab ragoon and egg rolls. People are always welcoming, with a great owner and staff, and the locals make visitors feel right at home. It provides the best time on the northern end of the lake for good old fashioned fun, though it is noted not to bring kids after 6:00 pm.
Never stayed here but love the bar and the atmosphere. People are always welcoming and it's refreshing to have a dive bar feel at the lake rather than the fancy expensive pool bars

So, Moonies IS the place to be! We were hesitant (due to some reviews) but we have had a blast here! Great owner, staff, & the locals have made us feel right at home! Food is really good! Even had one local bring us breakfast from town, another took us out on his boat two different times! Thank you Moonies! We WILL be back
