I commute in from KC occasionally to work in Clinton. Found a problem with my tire sidewall and needed it replaced before my commute back. They got the tire in that day from out of town and replaced it that same day at a great price. They also gave me a lift to work and back while they worked on the car. Totally saved the day!

Truck inspection and fix hole in exhaust system. .no prints or dust disturbed where front tire removed, exhaust blows down on brake lines and axel, said I had seam crack on catalytic converter, said I needed new one, I told them there was.no noise, and would deal with, got truck back with two tiny spot welds up on side/top of converter not near any seam. . Truck left unlocked and door not shut. Took truck to another mech failed inspection for exhaust, but Powell's will decide if it needs fixed. Second truck, through no codes, but given price $ 1700. to 10,000. Could be pistons, lifters long block or complete motor. BEWARE, they are always quick with excuses why your jobs not done, always emergency as to why not working. Hard to reach a person, don't return calls in timely manners, like days later, if at all.

We have had a couple of our cars worked on here. They have always done us right! They are priced very reasonable and are able to get us taken care of in a timely manner! I would definitely recommend using them! Now that our second car is done, I am getting ready to get them started on our next vehicle. Good to have a trustworthy mechanic close by! Everyone was very friendly and explained the diagnostics test and what needed to be done. Will have my repairs done here. This was my 3rd time having my car in service and I was happy with the outcomes each time.

They're awesome, Corey is good at walking your through what needs done and way, will add in why labor costs are a but high (if needed) like if the part is hard to get to. They lost atleast 1500 dollars off me, went in to get a purge valve replaced and kept getting bad parts. Would call them and say "still jumping at stops, and dieing" so he'd set a time for the next day and put another in. Did this 6 times, finally put a factory Ford valve in it it and it fixed the problem. I thought the warranty from the part company the used paid them like 15% of labor, no they pay nothing. So after the 6th time we got it, and they had to of lost atleast 1500 doing this for me. Since we had all those "oh its still not fixed" phone calls the last time I went in to get the factory part put in Corey told me that for now on the ONLY person that'll be handling my car is their lead technician Marcus. Who I grew up with and know, he is very good at what he does. Powells is hands down the best place in town to take your vehicle, sure their labor might be higher then the other guys shops, but you're paying not only for solid service, but INTEGRITY! To me that's worth a few extra bucks in labor costs. Once they get to know you and your not blasting them on Rant and Rave pages or on FB, then they'll really start going out of their way for you. I don't want to list what they've done for me and make yall jealous but let's just say they've went above and beyond, every single time I step foot in that auto shop. Love Powells, just wish they'd get on CarFax so my car wouldn't have such a bad score, since all the work they've done isn't listed on carfax when I go to sell it it'll be hard to get the most out of it. Saved my receipts but that's old school. Powells, I sent you a carfax friend invite last weekend. Check it out. Thanks boys, again hands down 10 fold, BEST auto shop in Clinton.

If I can give them zero stars I definitely would! I went and got my transmission checked (don't have a dip stick) and they came back and said that my transmission was low and dirty and they recommended changing the transmission fluid. I didn't know how long it has been since its been checked cuz its new to me so I said yeah go ahead and it cost be almost $400 dollars. I went back like 6 months later to have them check it again and I had a feeling that there were gonna say the same thing they did before... and they did.. they said it's dirty and they recommend changing it, saying it's never been changed when they were suppose to do it 6 months ago and clearly never did. I took it to sedalia back where I bought it and they said that the plug has never been pulled and there's no way they changed it 6 months ago! So they lied to me and ripped me off almost 400 bucks! Will never go back and never recommend them to anyone!

Waited nearly 2 hours. They tried to fix something that didn't need fixing for $300. Told me my car wouldn't even make it home. Called their bluff and have been driving it everyday since.UPDATE August 2021: still driving just fineUPDATE December 2023 still driving just fine, has since passed inspection, I checked the tie rod and had someone else check it, too. no problems.
