Closed. Poor directions. Poor signage. Poor customer service. Poor location. Waste of time.

I wish there was some kayaking on this kayaking trip. Really it is just a float while a guide talks non-stop. Seriously. You spend two hours paying attention to one guy yammering on while he blinds you with his carelessly handled flashlight going straight in your eyes in between looking at stuff. The mine itself is cool, and there is a lot of potential, but the actual tour part needs work. Maybe an option for people who want to quietly take it all in? Or a go-ahead allowed for folks who want to go forward? Mark the walls so they dont get lost! There are ways to keep it both safe and entertaining, while sharing the passion of these dedicated men who worked very hard to map the mine.

They were closed, but I did get to walk down to the water and hunt rocks. It's a beautiful place to see.

We booked the tour after seeing it’s google reviews. Not disappointed. The cave kayak is amazing. Great guide, the tranquility of the cave and the vast size is something I wouldn’t be able to imagine without the experience.

A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE. They text you the directions and it is very specific. Simply do exactly what it says. Don was very patient and made us feel very safe during the whole trip. Definitely a must do!

Kayaking was a blast. Be prepared to be confused if this is a legit tour, it is, but I questioned it the entire time. To start, the entrance getting to the parking lot seems sketchy to say the least. There is a small bridge leading to a tunnel with wires hanging down. No, you aren’t going to die and yes, that’s the entrance. We laughed the entire time and said, “is this for real?!” The entire trip. Port-a-potties were available outside before entering the cave. Don, a 73 yr old guy along with his teenager granddaughter met us there. He is very kind and really cares if you are having a good time yet he lacks in his tact a little and makes sly, inappropriate comments on occasion. The tour went long which we enjoyed but be prepared to not go to the bathroom. Don provides gloves, life jackets, headlamps, and the kayaks. He has multiple kayaks with large floodlights on them to illuminate the caves. He will point out bats if he sees them and show you all the unique characteristics of the cave. Technically it is a sandstone mine.

This place was the coolest before the flooding. For those of you that never got to play volleyball or run a 5k or hang out at the bar or watch mma fights or laser tag or watch a band play, etc in the cave, I am truly sorry you missed out on a great time. I hope that one day they can reopen to full capacity like it was so I can change this to 5 stars. This was my group of friends fave place to hang out ever.

We've visited family here in the Crystal City area on three or four ocassion but was not aware of these underground caves until now. Searching for something fun for my four teenagers to enjoy, I discovered this opportunity to kayak the caves. I appreciate Don's sense of humor, hospitality, and returning my call after I had messaged him.Dad scored big...My teenage kids loved it! And so too did my wife and I. I was concerned my wife might have an anxiety attack, or worse, a PTSD attack, but our guide Rick did an outstanding job preparing us and coming alongside my wife in the confined areas. I must confess after reading the directions, I called the City police to make sure this was legit ?. They confirmed ?. Time and money well spent!

Had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Green Velvet and other friends. Very unique spot with miles of cave to be explored!
