There is a short, older heavy woman with a smokers voice- she is unprofessional and discriminating. I came prepared after working with my doctors office and BOTH insurance companies to determine which mattess/bed would be covered by my insurance. Everything was verified and ready to go- I only had to test the mattress to make sure I liked it. When I walked in she was judgemental and rude. When I told her I had come in for the mattresses she assumed it was for an older person, which is understandable, but I assured her it was for myself and I have it taken care of as I had come prepared. She laughed at me and dismissed me entirely. She rolled not only her eyes but her entire head when I brought up my insurance and told me good luck. She would not give me the time of day because of my age. This encounter was less than five minutes and we left. Everything she said was a lie and her behavior was completely biased and unnecessary.

This is a wonderful place. We’ve rented transport chairs before from them; this time the stay will be longer term so we purchased several other pieces of equipment. Jim who helped us is very knowledgeable about the equipment and helped us to get the right size for her needs. Also made sure to tell us about the price break for WC rentals vs. purchases. I highly recommend this business.Editing:After going to this establishment about 6 times in a week because of an urgent situation, the first visits were fine, but the last one unfortunately wasn’t. Somebody (the owner, maybe?) was extremely rude and obnoxious, not at all like Jim and another salesman who had helped me previously. My previous review was better than this place deserved.

I have a Bruno Stairlift that I purchased a year ago from Medi-Equip, Des Peres store. I LOVE this stairlift...it has made my life so much easier. But this review is really about Mike Brickey. Mike came out the other day to fix a bad battery in the lift, and whatever else he did to make the ride up and down the basement steps better WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Mike did a spectacular job of leaving the stairlift better than he found it! I highly recommend the Medi-Equip company, and in this review, I highly recommend Mike Brickey!

Run far from this business! The low star reviews say enough.I rented a lift chair from MediEquip prior to my hip replacement surgery. I paid $330 as a monthly rental fee - a lot of money for me. I arrived home from the hospital on a Saturday, and after being dropped off by friends, I settled into the chair and reclined it. 20 minutes later the power went out. I was STUCK. I googled what to do before calling the (closed) business. No answer, so I called the other location. The outgoing message said that if I had an “emergency with any of their equipment” to call a different number, I called that number and the message stated “we’ll call you on our next business day”. It wasn’t until over an hour later that friends returned to help me (in the middle of a storm and many power outages). They discovered a battery back up on the chair. There were NO batteries in it. With help, I was able to get out the chair.Fast forward to today - Thursday - I finally get a call back. The woman was very rude, and said, “We don’t tell people about the battery backup, because it doesn’t always work.” What?!?! Isn’t like saying, “So, I’m renting you an apartment with a smoke detector, but it’s your responsibility to put a battery in it. [after the unit catches on fire].” That doesn’t happen in real life (because it’s illegal), but this business is apparently above the requirement to rent safe equipment.I asked for a partial courtesy credit for the malfunction and the incredible stress that I went through in this situation, and was told “it wasn’t their fault the power went out.” Right. This company sells medical mobility and SAFETY equipment. They will pocket your money and run, trust me. It’s documented here and in prior reviews. And it will be documented with BBB next.

Jim was extremely helpful with finding the right wheelchair for my dad. Didn’t feel “sales-y” either.

Save your money and don’t go to Medi Equip!!!! We went in to Medi Equip and needed a lift chair for a parent and bought one. They said it would take two to three weeks max. Two days later they called saying it would be 6-8 weeks. We went to another store and got a great lift chair that was much nicer, half the price and delivered the next day. We immediately called Medi Equip to cancel the order. I talked to many managers but Medi Equip would not cancel our order or even let us pay a restocking fee and at least get some of our money back. The adult is in a nursing home and can’t use the chair. They have no compassion and still won’t work with us. I have a new lift chair that no one will use and I can’t get any money back.

Avoid the sales people here. They are happy to sell thousands of dollars in equipment to a grieving spouse and hide behind manufacturer policy as an excuse not to restock the equipment that never got used. Good example of a manufacturer and reseller who co-author self-interested policies that hurt consumers and prey on those near end of life.

Jim is amazing!! I called a dozen stores before getting to Mediquip. No one else was as helpful or kind. They did not have exactly what I needed, but were able to get in an incredible amount of time. I cannot recommend them enough.

My Mother is a cancer patient and my Dad has neuropathy. Their house was built in the 70's- so the stairs are nearly vertical. I'm scared to death every time they have to use the stairs. Found MediEquip not far from their house and purchased a Bruno Stair Lift from them. The price was right and they were able to get it done in a few days. Joe, our installer, was amazing! He did a great job on the install and explained exactly how to use and maintain the lift. I felt like he really cared about the customers and so did everyone I dealt with. I can't recommend them enough!!!
