Auto Repair in Eldon, MO

“I called them and they said they had an opening if I came immediately. I pulled in less than 5 minutes after and they had my oil changed in about 5 minutes. Friendly, quick service. Id recommend this place if you're on the go and need it done quickly!”

“We have never had such a pleasant car buying experience. I'm sure the fine folks of Eldon already know this, but, if you're looking for a car you really need to check them out. We'll start with Loyd Belt Automotive the next time we're looking. Thank you Joey, Matt and Alayna for taking such great care of us, well done all!”

“I have been fortunate to have Irwin Diesel repair as the company who does our fleet services. Many times, while out on route, Mr Irwin would come and never one time failed to get my truck going again. After knowing them almost a decade now, I can personally attest to not only their mechanical skills, but a good moral compass as well. Good people.”

“10 stars! 2nd time Shane has worked his magic! There was so much hail damage everywhere this time that I didn't think it could be fixed. Now I cant find a single spot where a dent used to be. Thank you!”

“Over the years, I've had multiple vehicles repaired at UCC. James and his crew are great to work with and are very knowledgeable. I live about 45 minutes away and drive by no less than four body shops simply because I trust James and the quality of his work. I highly recommend UCC.”

“Love this place!I have been wanting to stop in & it surely didn't disappoint! Felt like my bff invited me into her sewing room stash!♡♡♡Not like some snobby quilt shops(YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN)”

“I have had five vehicles/rv with bodywork at Praters in the last couple of years and the latest of which was a deer that decided to make havoc out of the front end of our work truck (with a Vinyl wrap). I am overwhelmed with the work ethic that this company (Prater Family) has shown us to each and every job down to the very last detail. I was very happy that on this last one that they took it on themselves to deliver the truck to the Vinyl wrap company pick it back up and finish the work without us having to get involved, they took care of everything A to Z.
I have a small business and this is something that I strive to be like. It’s a breath of fresh air doing business with Prater”

“They really helped me out in a bind. Communication problems were on my end and were resolved. They offered an option to a difficult problem which I took them up on. Very friendly!!!!”

“August 2026- Update
Once again I am pleased with the service provided by this establishment. I had to have a serpentine belt for the air conditioner replaced. (My car has three different serpentine belts. Jeez.) I feel they treat me fairly and do good work. They got me right in as scheduled, got to work done, and I was out of there and under an hour.
I always forget to get the name of the people who do the work each time I visit. I feel I do them a disservice by not giving credit where credit is due. I just want to apologize for that. I'll try to do better in the future guys!Anyway, if you need some auto service, I recommend Bruns.

Date: Sometime during the summer of 2025-
They got my problem taken care of in under 20 minutes. Plus they were friendly and professional. Best of all, I left and still had money to buy a few groceries I needed to get get.”

“Here’s my experience with The Carburetor Shop. Perhaps twenty years back, I sent a carburetor from a 1935 Packard for some attention. The carburetor was put into fine shape in a reasonable timeframe, at a fair cost, as I recall.

I frequently read Jon’s, posts and detailed answers to questions on the AACA Forum. Now, twenty years on, I needed to revive a Carter BB1 carburetor fitted to a 1912 Buick. Like so, so many ham-fisted repairs on this car that hadn’t been done correctly, this carburetor was no exception. There are countless places on the Net that offer a rebuild kit for this series of carburetor. Given that there are perhaps forty versions of this carburetor, a generic kit isn’t what I was looking for. These other sellers can’t answer detailed questions and half the stuff in a generic kit isn’t even correct for this carburetor.

I called Jon, asked some questions and he asked me +a lot+ of questions. I gathered the info needed and called him back. With that info, he put a rebuild kit together with exactly the parts needed to put this hundred year old carb back into proper order. Along the way, I had a few questions, as it wasn’t clear what someone else had done previously was correct or not, given the new parts supplied in the kit. Jon was super responsive, and he provided detailed answers to my questions.

One additional thing that I needed was a float level gauge. Just try to find one somewhere else! $10 and Jon included this original Carter tool in with my order. This made the float level adjustment quick and easy to match up with the supplied needle and seat, which were different than what was in the carb previously.

I put the carb back on the car, got it dialed in and driving it is a world of difference than before. Today, I called Jon to tank him for sharing his detailed knowledge. I had some additional questions and he spent time with me - no rush - to provide thoughtful responses and insight.

I only leave a review when I have an unusually terrific or a remarkably poor experience. No else one knows this stuff like Jon. Limited phone hours on Monday and Tuesday only.”

“Love going here to get parts for my lovely Toyota Corolla. I didnt have a strong enough tool and 1 of the guys in the back went out of there way for me and helped me out and that guy deserves a raise. And he also took gas out of his own vehicle and time to help me try to find some hubcaps at the junkyard. I couldn't tell him thank you for going out of your way enough times.”
