Awesome brewery! We sat outside to enjoy the day and had Neighbor Neil's pizza. Beer was good too!

This used to be my happy place. Anytime I talked to anyone about Excelsior I’d recommend Dubious Claims but I can’t anymore. What happened to you guys? The service I had tonight was absolutely horrible. I got my first beer and ate my entire pizza without getting another. The pizza used to be amazing but now it’s lackluster. The blueberry beer was always my favorite. The wheat flavor came through with a blueberry after taste. Tonight it tasted like it had a hint of skunk. I don’t know if you need to clean your lines or if you aren’t selling enough to keep it fresh. You guys really need to figure out what’s going on and make the needed adjustments. Maybe put some burgers and fries on the menu. We left Wabash because they had a 35 minute wait but we sat ourselves tonight and I can see why you didn’t have a wait. We won’t be going back tell you’ve made some changes. I feel like maybe you guys are getting ready to close and hope that’s not the case. This was also the first time I have ever not tipped a server. That’s how bad the experience was.

We had the best time hanging out for the afternoon. The drinks and beer were good. The atmosphere was very welcoming. We had 2 different appetizers that we really liked. We enjoyed the staff interactions, especially Lauren.

Pizza was very disappointing and small for the price. You can pay the same for much bigger and better pizza somewhere else. The beer was also disappointing compared to other breweries in the KC area. My beer just didn't taste right. The service was very slow and they weren't busy so I'm not sure why. Neat place but not so neat where it matters.

I ordered the nachos and they came with the worst chips ever. Like movie theater nachos. The mini pizza I ordered my son didn't taste right either, I think there was some raw dough. The server didn't act like she cared and we had to flag her down a couple times. The inside was cute but half of the restaurant was cut off on a friday night. There's only 1 toilet for women's and 1 for men when the place is so big you need at least 2 or 3. The specialty beer I got was good and the rootbeer my son got was good. There is no kids menu. I like the history of the name so thought it would be cool but all in all we were disappointed.

Understand that they make their own beer, but would be nice if they had other options for those of us who don’t really have the taste for that kind of beer. But all in all, two thumbs up.

They need to update hours on Google Maps. They are closed on Sunday, and drove over an hour for a pub pass.

Beer leaves something to be desired. It's okay, tastes like home brew though. Lots of TVs, so great for game watching. And the bathrooms are great. I'll give them 7/10. Would give them more but the toilet paper sucks. Service is great, very quick and friendly. I'll come again if they are on the pub pass, but not otherwise.

We sat outside as we had our pup with us. The outdoor area has fun games and swings for kids. We ordered The keg pizza and cheese breadsticks as an appetizer. We asked to have them brought out as appetizer then dinner but they brought them both out at the same time. We just felt rushed and didn't have time to enjoy the evening. Both were really good. I enjoyed the Blueberry wheat beer and my husband enjoyed his pale ale. Nice option within walking distance from The Elms.

Location location location. The brewery is about six blocks north of The Elms. It's a nice walk if you're feeling good and the weather is nice, but I wouldn't hold it against you if you drove or were dropped off. It's a good sized space with a long bar and plenty of tables. A small game room is available if you have some extra time. A banquet and events room is available if you're celebrating a special occasion.I didn't eat, but I tried a couple of beers and an alcoholic slushy. No complaints. The beer menu has a little bit of everything, so even the basic or pickiest of drinkers should find something they like.

Really enjoyed lunch here. Try the beer cheese sauce on your pizza instead of marinara. Good cold beer and great bartender/waitress. Fun spot. The quirky Hall of Waters down the street is worth a stop. Ah those Dubious Claims...
