This family run establishment is full of wares, including alcohol, that are produced in the state of Missouri. Downstairs there's a lovely restaurant where you can get a tasty lunch. The proprietors are extremely friendly and helpful.

This place was so good, we came back the next day for more! I have Celiac, and finding good gluten-free places can be a challenge. They make their GF bread in house, and most menu items can be made GF. The first time I had the hot ham and cheese; the second I had the chicken pesto (on the wrap menu, on the GF bread). We also tried the cheese plate, and asked for the bread and crackers on the side - I didn't even think to ask for GF. They brought it out with GF bread and crackers, and it was phenomenal. The salted caramel brownie is also GF, and so delicious. I'm glad we live close enough that we can come up again - I'm sure we'll be back for more.

What an incredibly helpful establishment. They are so concerned about making you feel valued as a consumer as well as going above and beyond helping to fulfill your requests. What a breath of fresh air to know there are such great businesses as this one still thriving. I would encourage anyone to patron this wonderful Mercantile!

Bacon cheese bread bowl, yes, please! It is always difficult to decide what to get here, today was the open faced tuna melt. Yum! This is also the best place to get Missouri wines, cheeses, and gifts.

This place has been a wonderful spot my wife and I have been going for well over a decade. Plenty of Missouri wine, beer, and other spirits as well as a bistro downstairs that serves great food with fresh ingredients.

My sister and I ate here ! The food was excellent! The service was excellent ! We had flat bread , vegetable soup and the peach spiced cake with whipped topping for desert , all homemade. It was so moist and delicious. I would highly recommend stopping by and trying a lunch here!

You'll have to make more than one trip here-- there are too many delicious options to choose from for one lunch, even if you order several items to share. The cheese plate was a definite win for our table. Everyone enjoyed something on it, and it's a great way to sample local flavor. The bread was devoured quickly, along with the goat cheese and jam. In the end, it came down to a Midwestern game of chicken ("You should have the last piece" "No, you have it!"). Literally nothing was left. The pizzas are super unique and flavorful. I chose the bacon and pear with gorgonzola and I loved the chipotle apricot sauce. My sister ordered the Merc Margherita. She's a big fan of pesto, and this one earned her seal of approval. We tried the daily wine selection and although I don't remember what it was called, it was great. Our server was knowledgable with recommendations, which was much appreciated, especially as it was my sister's 21st birthday! This is now one of my go-to recommendations for friends and family looking for an easy day trip from KC.

This spot was already among the highest-rated I've ever seen. I had to see for myself because I'm from Missouri. Obviously very well-known and patronized by locals, Willow is gem of a place for eats. (I'm sure to return here some time sooner than later. The warm customer service was also worth the drive to Excelsior, too.Willow Spring Mercantile has that sort of tourist-focused experience that may not rate low-budget friendly, but for a special occasion (or gift of fancy hi-q liquor for a friend or family member), the options here are many and varied.

We came for a day trip/date to explore Excelsior Springs that features the Historic Elms Hotel and walk around the quaint little town. While on our walk we found the Willow Spring Mercantile after our spa treatment at the Elms Hotel. I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a glass of Missouri wine while snacking on, HEMME BROTHERS CHEESE PLATE (an array of local cheeses, curds, quark, local jam and fruit with warm baked bread and crackers). It's a feel good and fun place that supports everything Missouri local from wine, cheese, and other things including what's in the gift shop. I won't lie but we fell in love with Hemme Brothers quark and now are fanatics. Highly recommended!

The food and atmosphere is amazing. The staff was really kind. Waited a long time just to put our drink order in and also waited a long time for food. Busy place and I'm sure like everywhere it's hard to find enough staff. We will definitely return when in the area.
