“On one of the hardest days of my life, I was introduced to Fair Grove Veterinary Services. My regular Vets office was closed and everyone was being sent to the "Sister" location. I called the number just knowing that due to the time, the day and them not knowing us, my chances of getting in would be slim to none. I could NOT have been more wrong.

The front staff were compassionate of the circumstances. They took us to a private room, explained the process and told us we had the room for as long as we needed it.

This was the day I had dreaded . . . The day I was losing my Loyal, Faithful and True Companion. Sadly, there was nothing wrong with my boy . . . Except for time itself.

Barkley Dale was 16 1/2 years old, which equates to about 112 "human years". His feet were sliding out from underneath him, I had to both hold him up, while feeding him his purayed food, then it was changing his Belly Band, then once I got him on his bed, I'd make sure he'd get a nice pull of clean, fresh water.

Barkley could barely hear, he could barely see, and I would wait for him to calm down, which meant watching him turn tight circles, backwards, until he wore himself out.

Time was Barkley's enemy and I didn't feel it right to watch his quality of life suffer. His life was the length and width of his bed.

Part of being a pet owner, is doing what's best for them. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. When they weighed Barkley, he was only 15 lbs., despite the amount of food he was eating.

The staff at Fair Grove Veterinary Services, went above and beyond to make Barkley's final moments as comfortable as possible, while also taking care of my family and I.

The end came, and my sweet boy was released. In pain no longer. The way the Girl craddled Barkley's body, still touches me.

I received Barkley's remains back in a Beautiful box, with a card, signed by each member of the staff and a Barkley's certificate.

Then, after returning home, I received a most precious gift, that I shall treasure. In an envelope, was 2 inked paw-prints???? a long with an inked snout print. At the bottom, in calligraphy, was signed . . . Barkley Dale.

One keepsake for me and one for my Son, Barkley's Boy. What a special gift . . . to be almost 25, and still have your first pet.

I could only leave 5 stars, but, they deserve so much more. I will NEVER forget their kindness. They went above and beyond and made one of my worst days, survivable.

I would recommend them highly.

With gratitude,
Marci Rene' Thaller”

“This is the best veterinary clinic that I've worked with during my 20+ years as a dog trainer/handler/breeder. Every veterinarian and tech has been knowledgeable, skilled at handling my dogs, and genuinely appear to enjoy their jobs.”

“My old man dog had what I thought was an infection but turned out to be a bite (most likely a snake bite). I'd lost confidence in my old vet so I gave AHCH a try. They saw him quickly. The doctor seemed as worried about my boy as I was, and they took excellent care of him at a reasonable price. He even felt comfortable enough with the staff that he didn't protest being left overnight, and didn't tackle me when he was discharged. Me and my tiny zoo of animals have found our new vet.”

“I took my female German Shepherd to many Veterinary clinics and kept getting nowhere. A coworker told me that she liked her veterinarian. I took a chance and went there in a hours time I found out she had some health issues.
You see half of her tail and up her back had no fur. I used great food until I met this Dr. I changed foods to what they sell Exhibitors choice. She has FUR and it has stayed there.
They did find out from Blood work that she had a low thyroid and Cushings disease. She is doing great happy and healthy.
Thank you Dr. Reid”
