I do not intend to gripe or criticize. I hope to caution other travelers while showing compassion to Martha. Martha is dealing with health issues and is physically unable to operate a Bed and Breakfast. She can barely take care of herself. We didn’t get breakfast, but it’s okay, because I couldn’t have eaten food prepared in her filthy kitchen. Our room was clean, but the bathroom outlet and the TV didn’t work. The Keurig coffee machine didn’t work. Bath soap was slightly larger than a postage stamp, thin as cardboard, and unwrapped. I hope Martha recovers and catches up on housekeeping. Until she does, I would discourage potential guests from staying there.Safety: Stairs are very steep. She provided a bath mat, which I very much appreciate since I have a bad knee and feel vulnerable in a slippery shower.

Aunt Martha was an awesome hostess. We were getting up at 0500 so there was not time for breakfast, but each night there was a homemade delicious dinner waiting for us. Fresh Bread, Pot roast with veggies, and last night was a full blown Turkey dinner with pie. Beds were super comfortable and rooms were clean and spacious. This will be the only place I will stay when visiting Fairfax MO.

Aunt martha's bed and breakfast was the perfect accommodations during my stay in fairfax for a medical school rotation. Not only was aunt Martha a kind and welcoming host, but the room was fantastic and the location was conveniently located to everything. I have zero regrets about staying here, and I would do so again.

Aunt Martha’s Bed and Breakfast was like walking into HOME. The friendliest little lady ever, offers her home and comfort openly. I stayed in the CALIFORNIA ROOM, which had 2 twin beds, with great mattresses, and pillows were excellent. Small refrigerator, TV, WiFi, and full bath. All day coffee, kitchen is open and privacy of upstairs rooms. I made a friend in Aunt Martha, will always recommend her B & B to everyone.

Aunt Martha could not be any sweeter! She stayed up late for our arrival into Fairfax, the rooms were very clean with comfortable beds, and breakfast was delicious and very accommodating, given I’m a vegetarian. Such a quiet and peaceful place to unwind. Thank you Aunt Martha!

I lived here 7 months during the construction phase of a new wind farm in the area. Felt at home, comfortable, slept well, she’s very welcoming, & humble. Rooms are top notch - her house keeper does a superb job & takes integrity in her work. Never did I feel unwelcome. I cooked dinner every night in her kitchen & cleaned up after myself too ease the burden of her doing it. If you’re looking for something long term, or short term - this place gets my vote! I’ve met many people along my stay; some from near my home town & some from the east coast!

These ppl doing these reviews must be friends. I could deal with the drunks when I came...i can deal with a messy house. The room was great. But no, not welcoming. Not homely. Felt like I was someone freeloading. Came up at 9 o'clock in the morning to kick us out. On labor day weekend after we explained that thats where we planned to relax. So, yea. Don't theory reason I gave star is cuz I had to. Do not go here.

There was a recent snow storm that I, and others, got stuck in (2018). Long story short, Martha welcomed me into her home when I had no place else to go . . . in a snowstorm. I would recommend Aunt Martha's House in a heartbeat to anyone, for the owner has a heart of gold. In fact, I experienced wonderful hospitality, friendship, and conversation by not only Martha while I was there, but also I was shown tremendous kindness by her friends who led me to her bed & breakfast. In addition, what Martha has done with her lovely home, built in 1910, is simply darling, cozy and delightful to be in. And may I not forget to mention, she also hosted 3 other persons such as myself, who were suddenly caught in the snowstorm as well. While this experience was quite unusual, I recommend you make a reservation to Aunt Martha's House Bed & Breakfast! She will be glad you did :)

Martha is so genuinely welcoming that staying there really does feel like she's your aunt that you haven't seen for a while. On top of that, she makes great breakfast items and has restored the old house beautifully, keeping all of its charm. Definitely worth a little diversion from the interstate.

Wonderful place! Beats any motel hands down. Super clean, quiet, homelike environment. Aunt Martha makes you feel like one of her family. Would highly recommend to anyone
