“Leaving your animals in someone else’s hands requires immense trust, and Veterinary Clinic of the Mineral Area has earned ours completely. They cared for our beloved dog, Pookie, for eleven years, walking with us through a six-year battle with congestive heart failure that eventually transitioned into kidney failure. Navigating a long chronic illness is emotionally taxing, but this team ensured we never carried that weight alone. Every visit was met with patience, warmth, and complete transparency. The doctors took the time to explain every detail, outline our options, and never once made us feel rushed. Whenever we needed them, they consistently squeezed Pookie into the schedule no matter how last minute or urgent our call was, always keeping his comfort as the absolute priority. During his final stage, the veterinarian guided us toward comfort focused care, a compassionate plan that gave us eight more comfortable, precious months together. When it came time for cremation services, the staff’s tenderness was unforgettable. The technician handled Pookie with so much dignity; even the gentle, respectful way she positioned him in her arms as she carried him away meant the world to us. The very next day, we received his ashes beautifully wrapped, accompanied by a sympathy card, paw prints, a nose print, and a keepsake clipping of his fur. Veterinary Clinic of the Mineral Area continues to care for our other family pet and our farm animals, and knowing our animals are in such capable, empathetic hands gives us endless peace of mind. The medical care, integrity, and genuine empathy here are unmatched. Our family is forever grateful for the dignity and love they showed our baby throughout his entire life.”

“Personally, myself and my family have always had wonderful experiences here - with all of our pets my entire life (I'm 29 years old). we've always been helped with kindness, and the workers no matter which position...have always treated myself and others around me while there with dignity and respect, which is very rare (especially in these days). When we couldn't pay (15+ years ago..maybe more) for a kitten we tried saving, we found out quickly that it wasn't going to make it, and I was crushed - but we didn't have the money to pay for it to be put down. It was the middle of the night, and this amazing woman (I haven't seen her since, I assumed she was an angel disguised as a worker) approached me and took care of the cost herself. So, we went to a room and the amazing woman came in and explained how process works. she made sure to assure me there would be no pain, and she let me hold the kitten until she was gone. she didn't suffer, she just went to sleep peacefully and was no longer suffering. I was still bawling of course, but who wouldn't? Afterwards, clinic staff stepped in and helped what would've been the most traumatize experience of my life - so I will never have a negative thing to say about this place. The ladies who answer are always the kindest people, and our animals have always loved the staff as well! I highly recommend you give them a try, and give them a chance. At the end of the day, even if you had a bad experience and left a negative review, just remember we are all human and have bad days...it's never too late to give someone a second opportunity to show you who they really are. they might just surprise you! (& this goes for people in general as well, we need to treat people with kindness because you never know what someone is facing internally).”
