The store overall is great. But be careful when bringing produce in your home. I bought red potatoes yesterday and a cockroach crawled out of the bag!! Be careful, once you get these little things in your house they are very hard to get rid of them.

I’d like to leave two reviews : FIVE STARS and ONE STAR.Aldi is one of the VERY FEW places I will shop. When I find someplace that has everything I like in one place, I am a loyal shopper. Aldi simplifies shopping and clearly they have the system well refined. I’ve been driving out of my way, past other grocery stores to shop at Aldi for at least 10 years.ONE STAR Experience:Unfortunately, this week I had the first strange, very unsavory experience at Aldi on North Oak, in Gladstone, MO :I was shopping with my 94 year old grandpa, whom I drive to the store (he doesn’t like his groceries delivered and wants to shop for himself, so this is our compromise—I drive). Due to his age and mobility, I try to stay nearby him while we shop—just in case he needs assistance or God forbid, an emergency or fall.On this particular shopping trip, Grandpa had been looking for bread & butter pickles, but couldn’t find the usual Aldi brand. After a thorough search, we moved on with the shopping, but without the pickles. As we rounded an aisle, I saw a fancy (more expensive) brand of the bread & butter pickles. I grabbed the jar and caught up with Grandpa.By the time I was able to show Grandpa the pickles and ask if he wanted this brand, we were already at the register. Grandpa decided he didn’t want the $5 jar of pickles (too expensive for his liking). So, I reached out and placed the jar down on a nearby shelf (the pickles had been in the far end of the store) and hurried back to help Grandpa put his items on the register. After loading the items, we had an extra long wait at the checkout because of a delay with the customer in front of us. We waited patiently. As we were in the middle of finally checking out, an Aldi employee approached me :“Excuse me, ma’am”, he said in a firm tone, getting close to my face. “I have the jar of pickles. I’m going to put them back, but next time, if you don’t want something, hand it to the cashier.” My puzzled face must’ve prompted him to explain further, “I’m just trying to raise awareness”, he continued, and then hurried off.I couldn’t stand shocked for too long, because Grandpa was asking for bags and moving to pack up groceries. The experience was odd for a few reasons:1. I genuinely felt like I had been watched; especially because of the delay in my setting the pickles down and the reaction of the employee. - Creepy2. I was shopping with my 94 year old grandpa and literally set the jar in the closest place to avoid getting too far away from Grandpa. The cashier was busy and further away. -Enough said.3. If customers going rouge and setting product down anywhere is a huge problem, what about putting up a SIGN with instructions instead of leaving one employee to ‘raise awareness’?Just a thought.4. The approach seemed confrontational. As full disclosure and risk of sounding hypocritical; I am a Professional Organizer, and understand the value of putting things in their place immediately, whenever possible. But even I know there are exceptions. After shopping at other places with impeccable customer service where I was treated like a QUEEN (shoutout to Firestone and Discount Tires for keeping me from hating all things car related—I left a 5 star review for them), I found the vigilante behavior incredibly contrasting. What if Aldi made sure all their employees had impeccable customer skills, OR that they simply do their job and not interact with the customers? If a customer is generally polite and spending money, it makes sense to at lease feign appreciation. If you got to the end of this, thank you for reading. I hope you were at least entertained. We all have bad days, and get irritated, I get it. Please let this be a reminder to smile and be polite whether you’re an employee or customer.

Like the new layout. The employees were friendly and love the self-checkout.

Store is never fully stocked. It like a working man can't stop in the grocery store and complete his list after a hard day's work. Sad really. Need more options in the Northland.

I can't do 100% of my grocery shopping here, but I can save money on the 90% that I can get there.

Five people in line, one checkout person, and five self check closed stations. I stopped shopping Aldi back in the day because of only having one check out person I started again when they got self check but they’re all closed. It was only 7:15 PM I will think twice again before I have to wait in line. My time is worth more than the few dollars that I save here. Open the self check lanes!!!!!

This Aldi has gotten a little dirty. I don't like the self checkout. Need to have more checkouts. Frozen food bins almost empty.
