I went in on February 27, 2024 to rent a car for 3 days the total was $139.52Pick-Up Hollister, PLK Tue, Feb 27, 4:30 PM Return Hollister, PLK Fri, Mar 01, 4:30 PM. I signed in online for early check in with payment and my drivers license. When I got there he asked to see both so I pulled them out and handed them to him. He said I haven’t charged you anything yet but I want to let you know we’re in a charge of $250 as a deposit.Let me get this straight you wanna hold $250 for four days and make interest on my money without letting me know ahead of time.He said it was on the contract. I pulled the contract. It was nowhere on the contract. I said I paid online but actually I just entered the information online. They did not pull the payment yet. But they said the payment was. $139 it would only go up if I change the reservation.So I said no thank you I will try someplace else I turned around to walk out. I was placing my cards back in my wallet and he says to my back. Good luck with that. Very sarcastically like that wasn’t gonna happen. Not thank you, sorry for the misunderstanding, good bye, or just say nothing.I turned around, said a very not a nice remark and then said you just couldn’t help yourself could you as I walk back to the counter? Then he said you’re living up to your name Karen. No I invented Karen. The others are just a knock off.I don’t know what he has going on in his life, but I know what I have going on in my life And it’s a lot and I sure don’t need him poking at me like I couldn’t afford to rent a car. I just didn’t want to rent that car and be held hostage for $250. I have NEVER put a deposit on a car.We traded a few choice words, and he told me to get out of his building. I said not until I call Avis and report you, so as I’m calling Avis, he calls his manager who he is telling his side of story and I look at him and asked you are seriously saying that is the story. And she immediately took his side and told him to call the police, I said it’s OK with me. I’m calling Avis either way.So to make a long story short, these people are going to charge you $250 without telling you upfront so let that be known. No credit check was ran on me. No credit card was asked from me.The horrible attitude, sarcastic behavior, disrespect, the threatening attitude I saw that they displayed was worrisome.I would look to another car rental before going to Hollister, Mo. Airport location. Personnel all the way to management was poor.“The gentleman in the garage apologize. He was a good employee he defused the situation and I felt better about leaving.” He should be running the place.

If I could give them zero Stars I would, called this location for 30 minutes and could never get somebody at the location on the phone just kept forwarding me to call center. The people at the call center had no idea what to do, couldn't direct me on what I could do.Don't do business here if you want to stay stress free! Hope this helps.

Was charged a “late fee” for not properly filling out the paperwork when returning. Car was not late. 2nd bad experience here… From now on, I will use Enterprise at Branson West airport.

Terrible experience. We were late to pick up our car because of a late flight.They did not tell us they had no after hours options when we called.

They gave me a broken car and when I tried to exchange it after noticing they said nothing was available even though I checked that for a new reservation there were many options on their direct website for that location. Do not go here, I’m switching all my business to National rental car.

Charged me for an extra day even though I returned the car and dropped the key in the box the night before the return date. I'm a frequent customer. This is the second time they've tried to overcharge me this month.

After getting the vehicle and taking off the lady there was completely clueless but was a nice lady the vehicle that I took for the Nissan rogue from Branson to North Carolina the vehicle did good but the vehicle needed to be cleaned up better and not have a kick panel falling off and wiper blades that would have actually clear the windshield I got in a downpour and had to pull over for almost 2 hours to let the rain pass because you couldn't see through the windshield then tired on the vehicle are due to be replaced and I would told it had a full tank and it had three quarter of a tank when informing me about my drop off spot she failed to tell me that that location had no after hour drop box or the correct business time that they close show between her not telling me the right time and the wipers not working I ended up having to pay for an extra day.

Awesome experience! We were helped by Tiffany she was very friendly and knowledgeable. Cars was super clean and ready to go. Great experience would definitely recommend.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Tiffany completely wasted our time, made me miss our flight and now I get charged for a car I don’t even get? Avis In Hollister and the employee can “change” the policies when they see fit but can’t actually get a real solution. When I began asking for a manager or a corporate number, she became very rude and threatened to call law enforcement for me simply trying to get the rental we paid for. Honestly so much better companies, skip Hollister Avis completely, just go to enterprise. Tiffany was beyond rude and very unprofessional. Just in case she lied about her name it was on 12/17 at about 4pm. TERRIBLE.

Watch closely they will overcharge, they do not give you free mileage any longer, Evidently this company has gone to the dogs!!!Customer satisfaction and loyalty means nothing to them any longer somebody is definitely patting their pockets!

Terrible experience .Tried to charge me for a whole day when I was late then tried to tack on $30 late fee. Customer service has went down under the new owner Lauren and the front desk Tiffany. Good news is Erick from corporate fixed it.

I booked a car rental for the weekend for a sport class. I booked it in my name and used my mom's debit card to book it and just paid my mom cash. then at the desk was told that a credit card needs to be on file for just the sports class. my mom was the only one with a credit card in her name. we still couldn't get the rental because I had prepaid and the name on the reservation needed to be the same on the credit card. so we got to start off our weekend vacation with disappointment because of Avis.
