I contacted the Administrator, Rita about getting getting my husband into Northwood Hills. She worked all day with the hospital to make sure all his medical needs could be met. Got him there and the staff as well as therapy took good care of him. He's home and doing well, Thank you.

I wanted to say it was nice to see the residents at our fall festival this year. The staff were very friendly and helpful bringing the residents out to enjoy everything. They made cakes for our cake walk and they are always helping the residents be apart of the fun. We enjoy seeing them every year.

Please note Rita Smithson is the administrator and 99% of the positive reviews are from staff, talk about a conflict of interest. I wish I could give a zero star. This facility has a nickname of 'Northwood Kills'. I thought it was an exaggeration until my mom was forced to stay there because no one else had an opening. She was verbally and physically abused by an aid named Samantha, their administrator and head nurse both told they were firing her when we removed our mom. They told us she is a 'known problem'. They lied, she's still there. They also didn't bother to fill out any of the state mandated incident reports each time the abuse happened. If you don't believe me just walk in, it's so run down I am appalled the state would allow it to stay open. Black mold around a/c units, employees smoking inches from residents faces in the courtyard, refusing to help residents to the bathroom, not to mention the unexplained bruises. May they all get the care they are giving in their old age.

If you care at all about your loved one, please do whatever you can to avoid this nursing home. They have an aid working there named Samantha that the administrator said would be fired for abusing our mom, however she still works there. This aid has had several other complaints and even the physical therapist told me and my sister she was a bad person. My mom was afraid of her. They also cover up abuse that happens in their facility. And refuse to give basic dignity like helping the residents use the restroom.

I am amazed and grateful to be able to call this exceptional place home for my multiple Hospice patients. The first time I walked through the front doors of Northwood Hills I was immediately greeted with love and compassion. I fell in love with the entire care team! However, their social worker DiAna and their Administrator Rita truly stole my heart! Both of these ladies love with every ounce of their souks and they will do just about anything to help not only their patients but their patients families! They are the true example of going above and beyond standard care! The grounds are always beautifully manicured, the facility smells wonderful, the food not only looks nutritious bit it smells delightful, each and every area in this facility is well organized and thoroughly clean!Their sales staff are very helpful, and any questions I had were quickly and thoroughly answered allowing me to quickly share with my patients and their families!"The entire staff at Northwood Hills are uniformly beyond excellent, from your administrative personnel who obviously have exceptional hiring skills, to the maintenance staff who must be the best in the business, to the CSAs who are a tremendous help on an ongoing basis.I can’t say enough wonderful things about this facility! They do multiple great things daily but they do love the best!

Have never had such an incredible experience with discharge planning with the staff as I did here!!! These people care so much about their residents and they care about sage placement. They will even assist with alternate placement if the patient isn’t a good fit or if bed availability is low. 10/10 recommend this location.

Thank you so much everyone for taking one of my long term residents that I loved dearly when we could no longer meet her care. ❤️ I wouldn't have picked a better place for her.

When our family chose Northwood Hills it was exactly what Dad needed in a therapy program. His temperament had changed and he was really struggling after his stroke. Their therapy staff took the time to get to know his interests and hobbies and targeted his goals around getting closer to doing what he loved. Teaching him why certain pieces were important in his therapy routine helped him gain confidence back. He did not care for the meals and nursing care that stood out was hit and miss. However, when we discussed these things with leadership at the facility I felt like our concerns were addressed and I appreciated that also. We would definitely use Northwood Hills again for therapy or a long term need.

* Update from my first post 5 years ago - This is still an amazing facility. The staff are still great. The facility is clean. I've worked with the staff in the care of clients for our office. They are still the one facility we would prefer to send our clients to above all others.A very caring staff that stays on top of their residents needs to make sure that they are met.

My aunt stayed at this abysmal facility. The place was filthy. The staff did not act in the best interest of the patient. My aunt was left to sit in bed all day. She often wet the bed because no one would help her with a bed pan. She was unable to move on her own. I wouldn't send anyone to this place ever! You have been warned!
