Established in the 1930’s, family run for three generations. Current owner is the last surviving lamp lighter of the Mississippi River. Keepers of the light kept mariners safe, navigating around sandbars, rocks and other hazards.

Great place for what you need. You can tell who probably shouldn't be "looping" the rivers by reading their negative posts. Lol

Rustic yet safe place to tie. Very helpful staff with good knowledge of the river conditions. Had power hookup and fuel at a good price.

Great place to get fuel and have a real conversation. I was even transported to a local store to get some items for my 2021 Mark Twain voyage. The owners are good people and another employee helped me with fuel and ice. A+, I hope to stop again someday, great fuel location on the Mighty Mississippi. Fern and Charles have a great place to stop at when you need fuel and answers to questions regarding the river/history.

Hoppie's is the the last known gasoline stop for travelers on the upper Mississippi. They have power and water but that's about all you should expect. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, good gas prices. Cash or credit. Use extra fenders when docking. Those barges can really rock you, regardless of boat size!Hoppies has become so iconic that I saw people gather around Mr Hoppie to take pictures with him like a groupie! Haha.Great place & people. A must stop!

It could be better for people who dock there. There was a really weird guy there named Steve that creeped me out. I only used this fuel because the next fueling station is 100 something miles away.
