After a recent accident, I had the pleasure of working with Chasity Houchins, our Claims Representative from Auto Owners. From the very beginning, Chasity handled everything with professionalism, efficiency, and genuine compassion.
What truly stood out was how kindly and thoughtfully Chasity spoke with my wife after the accident. Her empathy and calm demeanor made a difficult situation much easier to navigate, and it meant a great deal to both of us.
I’ve already shared with friends how impressed I was with Chasity’s support and how she went above and beyond. Because of this experience, I will absolutely recommend Auto Owners to my friends and family.
Thank you, Chasity, for showing that exceptional customer service still exists.

We have been with Auto-Owners for several years after having the premium double at our former carrier. We have around 15 vehicles with Auto-Owners and are thankful for the coverage.
In our most recent claim we dealt initially with Robert House. Due to a scheduling conflict it became necessary to assign our claim to another representative, Chasity Houchins whom we have had the pleasure of working with on previous claims. Needless to say Robert provided a great beginning and Chasity came through with a finish that was professional and timely. Start to payment around a week and a half! The best I've experienced throughout the history of our company.

When my car was in a wreck by someone who ran a stop sign, the other insurance company tried to screw me by undervaluing my car.
So I called Auto-Owners & talked to Tyler Corlew & Supervisor Tiffani Jutting.
They both took control of the situation, got my car repaired & went after the other insurance company for reimbursement.
My car is like new & runs great because of Auto-Owners & I would recommend them to anyone.

Auto owners insurance does not provide their own phone number on emails or other documents. Pretty unprofessional practice.
I am NOT a customer. Nor will I be. They keep giving out MY phone number to customers. On another post they say they are obligated to protect the privacy of their associates, clearly they do not care about their customers or anyone else. Please take your business elsewhere, Farmers Bureau is who I prefer!

My car was rear ended and his insurance, Auto- Owners took car of the damages and provided a rental. The turnaround time met my expectations and appreciate the ease of submitting the claim. My first experience with their company and was pleasant outside of the circumstances.

When I wrecked my car they estimated repairs at 82% of my cars value but did not total it. Then when the repair shop got the vehicle they spent a week trying to reach Auto Owners with nobody returning their calls. They told my husband they could not do their own repair estimate until some repairs were made because they couldn't even get it in the shop to do the repair estimate, and that they would need to submit several supplements and weld things back together that would weaken the integrity of my vehicle and make the resale value go down drastically. It took 3 weeks for me to get a conclusion from Auto Owners and they finally totaled the vehicle. 3 weeks I had to pay for a rental out of pocket, then turn around and buy a new vehicle at a higher interest rate and come up with a down payment. I requested my rental fee reimbursed due to their lack of research on the value of my car and the work needed done. They refused. Had my car truly been repairable I would have understood paying for my rental due to the fact that I didn't have rental insurance. But I should not have had to pay for 3 weeks while they ignored the repair shop and didn't do their job correctly. I am truly disappointed.
Update: They did look back and see that yes my car was appraised at close to total loss and that a cc report was requested. Since that report was not done until I had complained they have agreed to reimburse me for part of my rental. They have also stated that they have taken steps with the independent appraiser to have this report provided automatically when they are getting close to the total loss threshold.

In 2025, my premium increased by 63%. My premium increased by 37% last year. In two years my premium increased by 126%. I had no claims in the past two years. I immediately contacted my agent and they are extremely busy, telling me I would get a response in about a week. I understand that they serve many people and it is first come, first serve. A couple of days later, I saw the notice that my bank disbursed payment to Auto Owners. Therefore, I decided to contact Auto Owners directly to inquire why my premium increased by 63%. Auto Owners response was that I could not speak to an underwriter and must go through my agent. In my opinion, this is poor customer service. I should be able to speak with a Auto Owners underwriter to find out why my premium increased by 63%. I would not recommend doing business with Auto Owners. They will raise your rate by 63% (126% over two years) and then hide behind agents. This is poor customer service and a shady way of doing business. I now have my agent shopping for a new provider. after six months of paying my bill my agent called me and said auto owners wanted me to pay an extra 120 dollars a year for my 17 year old grandson who lives with me who has his own insurance and own car NOT. to drive my truck which is insured by auto owners...AGAIN TO PAY 120 DOLLARS A YEAR FOR MY GRANDSON NOT TO DRIVE MY TRUCK...ITS A 100% MONEY GRAB...MY GRANDSON HAS NEVER DROVE THAT TRUCK..DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY...AND THEY WONDER WHY PEOPLE HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES...
