I got both my kids hair cut. My son's hair was cut way shorter than I had asked for. Normally I would watch and say something, but they called me over to trim my daughters bangs. My daughter got upset (as two year old do) and I asked her to wait for me to put on a movie to calm her down. She didnt get a cape on, she didn't wait for me to find a show to calm her down, and she just started cutting without asking how I wanted her bangs... she cut the hair all over my purse and lap and she cut her bangs way shorter than I wabted. Overall not a great experience they are very scissor happy there.

My boyfriend went in for a haircut last weekend, a woman named Salias who had really short hair that was black and blonde , skinny and had tattoos cut his hair. Victoria the manager said when we walked in that “Salias has been cutting hair for years and that she’ll take care of him “ supposedly but when Salias started cutting his hair she was really rough and in a rush cutting way more than what he wanted and leaving his neck with small cuts leaving it red and irritated when she was done she didn’t wipe away the hairs leaving clumps of hair on his hoodie and behind his ears, when we went back in Victoria the manager was rude and said that Salias’s name was Ashley and when we asked her why she said in the beginning that Salias has been cutting hair for long she denied it and said that her name was Ashley lying about her name but luckily we remembered what she said in the beginning. Salias never even apologized or said a word to us when we asked to speak with her Victoria said we couldn’t . We definitely don’t recommend Salias or the salon to cut your hair. This place doesn’t even deserve one star. We will definitely not come back Salias needs to learn how to cut and listen to what the client wants and Victoria doesn’t need to cover up for her workers mistakes .

I called and asked if there was availability because they close at 5 and the person on the phone told me.Yeah, come on in, we don't have any one waiting as soon as I get there.It's a 30 minute way and they close in 30 minutes.Maybe you should tell your customers the right thing first instead of wasting their time

This has been the only Great Clips I have been coming to since June when I moved here. They have been awesome but today.....NOPE. I got attitude all cause I asked for my kids hair in the front to be longer than normal. I didn't catch her name but her hair was pink. I'm okay not coming back to this location. & yes I did still tip.

Went to get my hair done I told Abigail I wanted to grow it out but it's just not going well and showed her the hair cut asked for her opinion and she said we are not doing that sit down let me get my phone and she asked me my about my hair and life and she came up with a cut so I could grow it out and what our end goal is .
Abigail is absolutely wonderful . I will call before I go to find out when she is there she is the only one I want to cut and style my hair.
She is young she has knowledge she listens and she gives you an honest opinion of what will and won't look good and she made me look and feel beautiful again and gave me back my natural wavy, curly hair . My family was very impressed with the outcome .

Jessica at the Independence Commons location cut my hair this past Saturday. From the start she was rude. My haircut is not at all complicated. I explained that I wanted a trim, 1/2 inch off or so and showed with my fingers the amount I would be comfortable taking off. She was super snarky and said what I showed her was an inch and a half, then proceeded to show me on her comb what a half inch looks like. Which was exactly what I showed her with my fingers.
She didn't speak to me at all the rest of my time in the chair. She didn't ask any other questions. She parted my hair wrong and did nothing with my layers which I mentioned when she asked how much I wanted cut and she ended up taking almost nothing off. Not even close to the half inch she claimed on her comb. There was literally almost nothing on the floor when I got up.
So I paid $35 (including tip which wasn't deserved) for a cold, mediocre hair wash and a nothing cut.
This is the second bad experience in a row, not with Jessica specifically, but at Great Clips in general. I don't have complicated hair so I've always just come here for my trims, but I don't think I'll be back. I need to find a stylist that I can go back to every time so I don't have to deal with these issues.

Love this location. Best Great Clips around. I used to just go to whichever location no matter where I was in the city.
This one and one off 39th in Independence are the best.
I live close to this one so now I schedule so I get my haircut here whenever possible.

Got my hair cut there, she didn’t seem motivated to cut my hair. When I told her what I wanted she said “i can’t do that because it’s gonna cost an extra $$ & we are about to close.” She cut my hair & left and didn’t cut it right! She left a long portion of hair in the front and above the shoulder, Won’t be going back at all! It’s an acceptable cut for a 8yr old girl but not a for a 38yr old woman. Get it together! If I could rate it properly I’d give a half a star..

I always go to the young Hispanic lady to cut my hair here. She's real sweet, friendly, and attentive. Not a bad experience at all. If I wanted a cut for a friends wedding id go to a higher end barber but for a day to day quick stop by for a trim, this place works. can't beat the price here. Idk bout the other workers tho.
