We just visited this library for the second time with some dear friends. I love the new renovations since our last visit. The staff has done a great job of displaying all the Truman related history through artifacts and video clips. You get a deep education and appreciation for all the events surrounding the life and presidency of President Truman. By the way, you don’t have to agree with all his decisions and politics to enjoy this library and museum.

One of the best presidential library I have ever visited. Very informative and interactive. The exhibits were organized and I say I learned a lot. The place is wonderful and very interesting. Make sure you alot two to three hours to walk around, watch and read facts. I was very impressed with the interior and would definitely recommend this library to friends and family. They have a gift shop and parking is free.

My family spent several hours making our way through all of the exhibits, and I was surprised at how much I didn't know about Truman and all of the critical moments in history that occurred during his time in office. Kids age 7-14 were in our group and although they were good sports and well-behaved I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked in each section. So I'll definitely be back when I can go alone next time!

Every American, regardless of political party, will learn first hand, what a leader looks like. Particularly. He was the accidental president. His wife, Bess, was a supportive wife. She demonstrated strength and was intuitive as First Lady. She stirred away from the media and tried to live as normal a life, under the glaring lights of DC. He was an inspiration, because of the way he handled the presidency, after the sudden death of FDR during war time. They both lived a simple life, and didn't enrich themselves in retirement. Quite different from our current generation of office holders. They are both buried in the central courtyard of the library. My wife and I never dreamed about visiting the Truman library. It was by chance, while on a family get together in Mo.

Having moved to KC 10 years ago, I finally made it after the recent renovations. It's Outstanding! It's a really well done museum that blends local and US history in an immersive experience. Although not a "children's museum," I do think it would be good down to school age children, although probably not for younger ones.

We hadn't planned to visit this but it's just down the street from the Truman House. Harry Truman planned this facility and had an office (which you can see) there. There is an entrance fee for the facility. They do have a very thorough presentation of his career and especially his presidency. We went through pretty fast and still spent an hour. So if you are interested enough to visit the house, this seems like a good thing to do as well.

The Truman presidential library was the first I have been to, and I will make it a point to make sure it will not be the last. One of the things that was most enjoyable for me and the rest of the family, was the exhibit to find out which one of the group participants was a communist spy. Naturally I passed with flying colors, with no suspicion drawn towards me whatsoever, even after being directly accused by a saboteur!(likely by the spy!) This was an enjoyable experience for everyone, and seeing artifacts that date back to the time of Kings in Israel was also remarkable. I did leave with a newspaper reprint, but the "Dewey Wins" newspaper was the most desired, and there is some degree of reluctance to sell actual fake news in a federal library. Would return to accuse more people of being spies! 5/5 experience!

We drove by today, will be back. Ive followed the remodeling and expansion and am anxious to see it.It was great driving from the courthouse from som business (it's massively screwed up doesn't need to be, another story) but the good news is we went by the home on Delaware, then to the library. Last time I was there was before President Truman had passed.

I wish I had gotten there earlier that day. Give yourself a good 3-4 hours to go through it all. I was very impressed and learned a lot about his presidency. It's definitely a must-see in Kansas City.

Great educational place. Harim at the admission desk, described the place with enthusiasm and went through information before we even entered. Also, when he said “scavenger hunt” about the artifacts, it made me pay more attention. Thanks to it, I learned whole lot!

Highly recommend. Spent an easy 3.5 hours there. Could have pstayed all day.School-age children will be bored, regardless of efforts of the knowledgeable docents. While there, the kids on field trip only wanted to see the oval office mock-up. Which held their attention for a minute.Learned a lot about President Truman's family, childhood, WWI military service, failed businesses, political career, presidency, and "retirement."Exhibits include the museum, the archives/library, on-site office, vehicles, oval office mock-up, and Harry and Bess' resting place.

This is a great presidential library. I've been to a few now and would rank it as number 2. While it's smaller than many of the others, they pack a lot in here. From his time as a farmer and local politician up to the presidency, it's all interesting; especially when you consider his involvement in WW I & II, Israel, Korea and early civil rights. If you're in the KC area, this is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. I spent about 2 hours here.
