"The Noland Home" is located across the street from the "Harry Truman House". Harry Truman's aunt and uncle once lived there. There is no fee to visit. The website (www.nps*gov/hstr/planyourvisit/noland-home.htm) states the hours of operation--just know that it's closed on Monday and Tuesday. More importantly, there are audio files and transcripts on the website to help facilitate a self-guided tour of the house. Most of the rooms you can visit are used for displays chronicling the life of President Truman. If you visit the "Harry Truman House", you might as well pop into the Noland Home for a look.

Right across from the Harry Truman home. Very nice exhibits of Truman's life and presidency. NPS was operating from this location when I visited. They did have all the park passport stamps on the back porch.

Catty-cornered across the street from the Truman home, this is the home of Harry's close cousins. In fact, so many Truman and Wallace (Bess, Truman's wife) lived around here, it was known as a "compound."This spot was full of rarely seen photos of Truman, his family, and early life. One of the photos of he and his cousins read, "this is us," and I found that touching. It's discusses Truman's early life, his courtship/engagement/marriage, and his business ventures and failures.I felt like this was a great accompaniment to the Truman home and primer for the Presidential Library and museum.Free and open, worthwhile.

This was our favorite part of the site because we could actually go in and see it. The Noland home is situated right across from Truman's home and it is where his aunt and uncle lived when he was courting his wife. The home is not set up like it was when it was lived in, rather it has displays about Truman and about his time as president. It is very interesting to go through and read all the information. The door is open and anyone can gl in without tickets or anything. It's a really cool place to visit!
