The Walmart Vision Center was a new in-network provider for materials with my new vision insurance. I decided to give them a try, and they did not disappoint! It was a hurdle to get the most of my benefits I pay for through insurance though, all however were NOT a Vision Center issue. I called the insurance and confirmed my benefits before arriving at the store. The manager, Kris, called to verify eligibility and benefits and was told something different than I was previously told. I brought a print out of my vision benefits with me and he understood and wanted to make sure I was getting my benefits used correctly. Another employee, Kyle, took my many phone calls and always was so respectful and patient. He tried to contact my insurance company too, and couldn’t even speak to a representative. Needless to say, this new insurance is a PAIN, but the Vision Center was so great to work with. I went there on a Wednesday, then Thursday, and by Saturday, things were figured out. Not without the help and patience of Kris, Kyle, and Ericka. Kyle was the one I settled up with and he was informative, professional, and knowledgeable. Do not hesitate to try Independence, Kansas Walmart Vision Center!!

I've been trying to get a appointment all summer for my daughter, finally got through and got a appointment before school starts! Great! Only they called 2 days before the appointment to cancel and now I have to start all over and the next place can't get us in until September! My daughter is walking around half blind. Walmart vision center is a joke.

This vision center was helpful. They were very courteous and helpful. I do not have insurance and wear bifocals. I did not want the line in it. There was a certain frame I wanted and she made sure it was going to work withntheblenses.

Julie was so helpful, even though it got complicated w a needed insurance authorization after the insurance company’s hours. She got what she needed from us and called the next day confirming she got the auth. Really appreciated it!

Worst service ever, and i have been wearing glasses and contacts forever so i thought it would be an easy and fast procedure. WRONG! i came to walmart thinking about prices and how they were much lower compared to others. The dr never acknowledged my astigmatism, she never gave me options, nor asked me what kind of contacts i preferred knowing i did have options. Given my contacts and glasses once i tried them on the prescription was way off! I had to go to another optical to get it right after seeing another customer yelling at Julie for the same reason and how poorly she handled it. I came back thinking she would change it but instead blamed it on me. NEVER AGAIN! Worst dr!

Anyone who doesn't like Walmart for taking care of people's eyes at a reasonable rate must not have liked Benjamin Franklin's ideas on spectacles..... Affordable is key and the service has always been top notch for my family. A+

Do not fall for the Dialation Upsell!! This center is purely revenue driven with horrible customer service. They are lying to customers telling them they MUST get additional procedures when it’s not necessary. I heard them telling other customers the same thing while I was waiting in the lobby. They lied to me, got my prescription wrong, and then the very rude individual conducting the eye exam refused a refund. I’ve worn contacts my entire life and never had this problem before. DO NOT GO HERE!
