Horrible customer service. And they don’t stand behind their work as soon as you point something out they instantly say their not at fault

I brought my 95 Honda Civic hatchback that had been sitting for years to this shop knowing it wasn't going to be an easy job. I was very up front with them before I had the car towed there. This car has been a financial and emotional burden on me for years. I've tried to fix it multiple times throughout the past few years. I just wanted to drive my car again. I feel like they did not do a proper diagnostic and just immediately started replacing parts that were expensive. My car sat there for 7 months. During those 7 months nobody would call me to keep me updated. Every time I would call to ask questions it seemed nobody could tell me anything other than the technician. 7 months and $3,000 later I had to finally say enough is enough. They acted like they were doing me a favor by not charging me storage. It might have been just a car to them. But it's my dream to be able to drive that car again. I wish I hadn't trusted this shop and don't even get me started on the management. 0/10 recommend. Zero communication skills. Plus my car is broken in areas that it wasn't before I dropped it off. It's an old car, and they didn't treat it with kindness.

Would not take my vehicle here again. Had a transmission go out and had my vehicle towed here. They didn't let me know when my car arrived and it set there a week with me calling twice before they gave me a quote and they wanted to charge me $3,000.00 dollars more than they should have. I had it towed to a different local shop and had it fixed for way less with no issues within a week.

I 100% do not recommend this place. This place was nothing but a scam. Had transmission problems. I'm not going into full detail because I'm pretty upset at the moment. The one thing I know they lied to me about was that my transmission fluid was dirty from not doing service on my transmission. That is false. I'm a woman and they think I'm stupid. I check my fluids. I had a transmission service and flush a little later than I should've. But my transmission fluid was crystal clear before taking it to them as it hadn't been too long since my transmission service at my local shop. So clear that I couldn't read it well enough to add anti slip without worrying that I overfilled it. So clear you could hardly see it on the stick. So, I assume that they didn't actually flush it or service like they said because it didn't need it but yet charged me for it. I still have the exact same problems with my transmission as before I took it in. I assume that since I know they lied to me about the condition of my transmission fluid, they lied about everything else. Not sure how this place has such good reviews. As I was leaving, there was a customer leaving that said they had their car for almost a month, he was there to pick it up and said they hadn't done anything to it. Complete scam this place is. Aaron lied to me straight to my face while looking me in the eye

Hello, my name is Kaden Patton. I brought in a 2005 Mustang GT in recently. and they did everything else fine I mean it took about a month and a half to get everything done and it was supposed to be a 12 hour job but the thing I’m complaining about is my windshield wiper fluid was working whenever I had it but then I seen that The line was cut and I’m guessing they had a leaked the fluid out and they never put it back together so I have to go and buy another to fix it

Had a transfer case that was bad in my truck and took it to them last year. They replaced it and my truck transmission was going out and they wanted to charge me $10K for a new transmission including labor and i took it to Kevin Auto Shop on 7th street and got a new one cheaper for $6500 including labor and found out my transfer case was also bad and seals were loose, no fluid in it and bolts around it were loose and Amco was respomsible for it. Took it back to Amco since i had warranty and said they would try to get another one ordered for me and never heard back. They are short staff there for a reason because people mess things up. I would not do business with them anymore. I would recommend Kevin Auto shop on 7th st. He will take care of you.

They did not do what we asked. We thought they were a transmission shop. Wanted our transmission flushed and a new filter. They drained but did not flush. Not the same thing. Told me the filter could not be changed because it was inside the tank. Hubby later googled. It was NOT inside the tank. Even if it was, what they charged was ridiculous for just draining the fluid and pouring in new fluid. But when said they will do something, they should DO it. Do not recommend bringing your vehicle here. Of course being a woman made them take advantage, if you ask me.

They left my back window down overnight, and it rained inside my car. Valve cover gasket was never replaced even though I was charged for it. They won't refund my money for the work that wasn't performed, and they think I'd trust them to bring my vehicle back and leave it with them. The owner was supposed to call to rectify the situation and still hasn't. I would not leave my vehicle with them and since I work at a car dealership and see 100s of people daily, I make sure to tell all of them to not trust their vehicles to this company.
In reply to your response: with the irreparable damage your business has already done to my daily driver, you won't ever have my car in your shop again to further damage my vehicle. That would be very stupid of me. Do the right thing and refund the money paid for the service you didn't complete. You have an opportunity to do the right thing. I work at a car dealership and I do tell everyone that comes across my path to not take their vehicle to your business.

I came here to replace my Ford's transmission that cost me nearly 8K. It ran fine for less than 60 days until it didn't. We came back to get it fixed under the "warranty" they promised. Warranty being if the mileage drove after being fixed was less than 12000 miles, they'd fix it without cost. That was not the case. They asked for another 3K to fix the transmission per this "warranty" which was not even outlined originally. They even threatened to keep MY car that is under my name, insurance, title and wouldn't give me my key unless I signed a paper agreeing to pay this 3k. The manager was rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, and directed microaggressions towards me and my husband as people of color. They want your money. They are "binding" by mouth only and argued that paper documentation isn't necessary even when people are paying thousands to get their vehicles fixed. The manager boasts that he has 4.6 ratings on Google but on other sites, this place doesn't even measure up. I do not recommend this service at all. There is better people and services out there.

We had a fuel tank leak on our Motorhome and no one in the area would touch it. Aamco did and had to repaired in a little more than a week. The girl in the office is so helpful and nice. Thank you Aamco people in Joplin, 2 weeks later and we are in Colorado, gas tank is still leaking and I called Aaron the manager. Told me to take it to the nearest Aamco which would be 80 miles away. We camp host so this is our home in the summer. Would have been nice to have it done right the first time.

Don't ever go to aamco in joplin. They will not return calls. They even wouldn't tell me if my vehicle is startable. I had to talk to a manager just to get thst info. Said they would call me back many times but didn't. Told me my repairs would cost 780. Then when it was time to pick up the car it was an extra 2000 to fix it. The info i was given was misleading and incorrect. If i had all the info i would not have gone ahead with repairs. Their customer service is horrible. They truly do not care about the customer. Save your money and all the stress and frustration of dealing with aamco in joplin. They didn't even offer a discount. The customer is never right even if they were at fault.
So basically I threw away all that money for nothing!!!!!!!

Dealership told us we needed a new transmission (transmission in it is only a year and a half old with only 50,000 miles) but took it to AAMCO, they did free check on it and found out it was the catalytic converter and it cost us a whole lot less than the $ 4,000the dealership wanted to fix it! Staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and polite!! Will definitely recommend them to everyone I know needing auto service!
