I just bought a refurbished Talera 4.0 bike and donated my old mountain bike. Everyone at the collective is friendly and knowledgeable. They explained all the new features I wasn’t familiar with, like disc brakes, Presta tire valve and shock absorber. They added a kick stand and even moved my mirror from my old bike to the new one. They aren’t a bike repair shop, per se. They fix donated bikes and sell them as a means to support their non-profit. They’ll help you learn how to fix your bike and they have a free air pump on the sidewalk. The group supports cyclists and those who need bicycle transportation. It’s a cool place. Give them any bike you’re no longer riding! (They don’t always take kids bikes, so phone ahead for that.) Highly recommend this non-profit business!

Didn't have a good experience looking for assistance here, unfortunately. I've been struggling a lot recently with homelessness and finding a job, and getting around the city has been very time consuming without a car or bicycle. Went in last week and spoke with a very nice person about trading time for a bike or putting down a little money and then working on one so that I could find a better way to get around and make life a little easier while I have zero income. They seemed confident that I could be helped and given the opportunity to trade my time for something to get around on.By then it was later in the day, so I came back today happy to put in some work but was met by a much more unfriendly person who barely gave me any consideration other than some thinly veiled mistrust, I guess. They told me to buy an unfinished bike outright and afterwards I could then work on it myself to make it functional. Didn't ask me my situation or what I could feasibly contribute financially. If I had the ability to drop $100+ on a bicycle that wasn't even rideable yet then I would just go buy a complete and rideable one literally anywhere else.Bummed out that I couldn't make things work here. I guess it seems less of a community outreach program and more just a shop with a workshop attached for people to work on their own bikes.

I was looking for a bike that that would fit my height and something I can use on and off the road. Shawn (Sean?) helped me find an excellent used hybrid\mountain bike that fit my budget. I even got a new helmet with it. Very grateful that this org is available to everyone that needs it
