The staff at this location is absolutely incredible. Every single person that works there always has a smile on their face and is always happy to greet you. I lost my phone today and had it not been for such an attentive staff and the idea to turn off the overhead music, I wouldn't have found my phone and I'm so grateful and thankful. Even the shoppers there stopped to help me.

Great place to find odds things and good clothes. But horrible to it's black employees. I was employed with them from October of 21 until Oct of 23. And was lied to and disrespected frequently by various supervising managers and the local area supervisor about my pay rate, my job title and location placement to name the least. Not only myself but many of the black employees are rarely promoted to positions higher than 3 key holder position. They are expected to accept being discriminated againstand disrespected by the customer's as well as by some of their direct supervisors. And should you choose to speak up for yourself or for what is fair and ethical, you are then cosider a problem and need to be humbled. As one of the Area Supervisors said and attempted to do to me. And finally after almost 2 years of dealing with countless situations were mishandled. I felt that my only option was speaking to the company HR rep about the issues looking for solution to resolve the matter. A conversation that resulted in me being asked, "well what do you want us to do about it, because you can't prove it. It's your word against his." And only then informed that my position of store manager that I was told was my position by my direct supervisor, was in fact on considered a Keyholder position based on store volume. Which would clearly affect me when applying for future employment. My response to them simply was that I no longer felt comfortable for being held responsible for Store management duties for days in whichI did not work but would continue to complete those tasks on days for which i did work with no issue. And also that I would be contacting the eeoc because i felt that i had been discriminated against by supervisory staff. And as a result was fired from Books and more location on Metcalf less than a week later. Which I think was illegal on their part. Sad when a company uses Christianity and a service that is meant to help the homeless as an opportunity to mis- treat, mislead and underpay it's employees. All the good doesn't cancel out all the bad things that allowed to take place. This place needs to be investigated

Rude specially the dark skinned woman with no hair no customer service skills. Very pricey. I prefer going to Dave.She acts like an animal.

The staff are amazing. There was one guy that noticed my hands were full and brought me a cart. The cash registers went down and it was a simple breaker but no one had told the manager where the breaker box was so she could fix it. bad on her boss. The prices were high. I saw a 3 piece candle holder from DG with a $5 sticker and they had marked it for 4.99. I also found Walmart brand clothes for 12.99. They do have a last chance rack with $1 items and I scored some things there. Thrifting just doesn't seem like thrifting anymore.

Hit-or-miss. Prices could be lower. I've found many clothes with stains on them out on display.

Good place to shop, but the last time I was there, I spotted a nice table reasonable priced. Went to get a cart and the Asian lady who works there apparently had her eye on it, as well. She put it back in the employees section so SHE could buy/take it. Listen, if you work there, ok, but give the customers a chance to get some “good” stuff too. Very inconsiderate!

Went in on a 50% of furniture day. Picked out a chair and brought it up to the cashier. They rang me up, didn’t apply the discount, so I asked if I could have the 50% off (which is normal, last time there was the furniture sale I also had to ask the cashier to put the sale on, if I had not asked they would’ve made me do full price). Then the cashier told me it was a “miscellaneous item” and the deal didn’t qualify. I was so confused, it was a chair I had picked out from the furniture section… idk how it’s more furniture than that lol. I just let it slide and paid full price, but I’ve just had a bad taste in my mouth since then. So if you go planning to take advantage of their specials, make sure they actually give you the deal they’re promoting.

This store is nasty. The shoes and clothes are outdated and actual garbage while they charge 15 FOR A SHIRT. Its cheaper at tjmaxx DO NOT COME HERE. 20 bucks for smelly shoes.... and their corny response "we try to price competitively" yea competitive for the highest price. This place is a dump. I use to come here all the time but actually burst out laughing at prices today. 35 dollars for a outdated lil shelf. 15 dollars for a small dusty vase. This is a joke.

Looked like some great items. A bit overpriced, though. I won't buy any clothing unless I can try it on first, which I was unable to! I couldn't even find but one mirror at the front of the store to hold an item up to me on. Pretty disappointed. Found 7 items I loved and ended putting them all back because I couldn't try any on. I'm not taking the chance at $13-$21 apiece!

Great item selection, the issue is with the young cashier up front. She was going around asking people to tip her $2 & she would give them 50% off everything they bought. She was asking people if they had cash on them or that she even took cards. Super unprofessional & uncomfortable, I hope they stop her from doing this.
