Consistently awful for each of my 2-3 visits per year. Call and no one answers or returns your voicemail. Show up and it's like auditing a college course on banking, listening to them try and figure out how to do any banking transaction more complicated than depositing grandmas $5 bday bill. Ask questions, show concern, and now I have an attitude problem. So unprofessional, so clueless, such a drain on my time. Plus the A/C isn't working today.

We've been with Commerce Bank for 20+years--followed in my parent's footsteps. But over the last 6-8 years it has been nothing short of a nightmare to do even the simplest of things. We raised 3 daughters with accounts in that bank and they mismanaged their accounts so badly when they entered adulthood that they have all left! I feel like a prisoner there because I want to leave too-- the only reason I'm staying is because it's the only bank my elderly mother has ever known and I'm joint holder on her accounts. Someday my mother won't be here anymore, and that will be sad, but you can bet I'll be rushing to Commerce to close all my accounts.

I have been a customer of Commerce Bank for over 20-years and have watched this bank slowly decline, especially the customer service as of the last few years. I recently found out they outsource their online payments to a 3rd party, who sometimes does make electronic payments to the payers you setup on their online payment page, however, they also send paper checks to payers which increases the time it takes for receiving the payment. I just received a mailed notification that my car loan payment hadn't been received 19 days after it was debited from my checking account! After several calls to the place that holds my car loan and commerce bank (after being transferred around depts and waiting on the phone for 45-min to speak to someone) all I was able to find out was that the check the 3rd payment party (that commerce bank contracts with) sent out a physical check for my car loan payment late. I will likely be charged a late fee for my late payment and it could also affect my credit score. It's finally time for me to leave Commerce Bank and find a bank that has been able to stay current with the times and truly values it's customers.

I guess you just have to laugh sometimes, I thought the drive thru opened at 7:30, I got to the bank around 7:40, it doesn't open till 8, no problem I thought, I would wait, around 7:45 a car drove up and said they didn't open till 8 and I needed to leave the property, I asked why and the girl said no one was allowed to wait on the property, I asked again why cause it's only 15 minutes till they opened. I asked if I could park and wait in the back of the parking lot, she said no, I could go and wait in McDonald's parking lot. This has to be the craziest thing I've ever seen. I went ahead and left, the girl was only doing her job but I will never understand why waiting 15 minutes in the drive thru lane was such a big deal?

I would leave 5 stars but because of all the issues I've had with customer service and other branches, I just can't. BUT this branch deserves the other 4 stars. Especially Carla. After trying to go to another branch 3 times to open a business account (I have 4 other accounts with commerce already and have been there for 5 years) I drove 15 mins out of my way to come to this branch and Carla was so helpful and got it set up for me within 30 mins. She is also helping me solve another problem the other branch on Barry Road caused me. Go here for the best experience with Commerce and ask for Carla. Don't bank with Commerce if you don't already.

There is no worse bank than Commerce Bank. This is a disease masquerading as a financial institution. There IS NO service, there is no customer 'service' agent, they are phone clones who could care less. You are not a customer, you are a s****** They will take every advantage of you imaginable. If you call, each attempt will take an hour or more... no one you speak to will do what they say. You will be transferred and put on hold again until you could puke. You will call again and again, and there will be no record of your valid issue. Ask for a manager. They don't care either. Here are the Better Business Bureau complaints.... sure, one or two could be just attitude problems. But read through - they ALL speak the truth about this garbage of an institution. Read the truth, then avoid this train wreck like HIV/AIDS

Any time I have approached my bank, they have always come through for me! The people there and those on the phone are very helpful and thorough while making sure the transactions are complete.

I had to close an account due to fraudulent activity and open a new account . When my check was supposed to be deposited it took two days and six phone calls to find out it was there all along.

I was in the middle of trying to get help from an employee and another employee asked me if I could step aside when I was not finished with our business yet. one person was friendly. Out of the whole staff. After I did not receive help from the front desk and they did not go and get help I stood on the phone with customer service for 10 minutes and they told me that I needed to talk to the bank so then I asked someone sitting at the desk and she tried to rush me and give me a half answer I would never do business with them on a bigger level.

Been banking there for years but not anyone after the management changed, i brought all my checking and savings to my other bank that cares about customer satisfaction, would not recommended to anyone, i needed help on somthing and the manager seem unknowable about any of my issues and called a bunch of different departments and got frustrated very easy and was rude to me the whole time i was there, and at one point wanted me to leave becuase she couldn't figure it out, also during that time, this isn't my first issue with her,i opened a new account with her, she put me in a account that i did not agree on that charged me a fee, called a month later and said sorry let me switch you to a basic account which is what i was told i had when i opened it, i asked why i was in the realtionship account and she said she signed me up for a promotion or somthing? Also she enrolled me in ths identu protection which i spefically told her i did not want and it charged me, the whole account opening process was horrible, sor. Glad i have a better bank to go to, definitively untrust worthy manager there, and unprofessional.

BEWARE of a sudden, monthly charge on your bank statement for "Family ID Restoration" ($3.95). I didn't enroll in it. When I asked Commerce why they started charging me for this "service," they insisted that I enrolled in it when I opened my account or when I visited my local branch. HOGWASH! I opened my account years ago (before this service existed) and it's been a long time since I visited my local branch. This is a total SCAM. You've been warned.
