Awful customer service. Wait times for a reserved car was well over 4 hours. Three different employees at Hertz and Dollar (because they're owned by the same company), told me that fuel will be waived due to the extremely long wait. That was a lie. I was charged $100 for fuel. Will never be using Dollar or Hertz again.

My husband and I rented a car for 2 days. We return our car early in the morning before our flight. They had a sign on their countertops directing to drop your keys in Hertz drop box. We even left a note on our receipt that we dropped in the the dropped box along with the keys stating the car was park in Budget parking lot and we left our numbers (it’s horrible directions at this airport and no rental company is open early) and we left the parking number. My husband card is still getting charge. What was suppose to be $184 has now turned into 884. There is no direct number to this location and I keep having to talk to Costumer service.

I am a dollar Xpress member. This means I am supposed to skip the line and go directly to the corner. This expectation is not met. After waiting in long lines, me, and every other member has been told that there are no cars available. Dollar has forgotten whose dollar it is. Their service promises. Really nothing. Their brand promise means nothing. Their customer service means less than nothing.

Like many others here, I returned my vehicle after hours, and could not find a dollar rental lot, after entering an incorrect sister lot I became stuck in the parking lot and had to leave the vehicle with the keys inside. It took me three hours before anyone would pick up the phone during business time at the Kansas City dollar rental location. Very disappointing. Still trying to resolve this and have yet to hear back from the management at this location.

My husband just finished renting a car with them at the Kansas City airport. He left his Raycon earbuds in the car and immediately turned around to get them when he realized they were missing. It had only been 3 minutes and they were already gone. He looked everywhere in the car and the employees were no help. They were definitely stolen by the employees. DO NOT TRUST THEM. I tried calling the location and they won’t even answer a phone call. We will never be using this rental company again.

I would give this car rental agency zero stars if I could. I cannot stress emphatically enough to not rent from Dollar at this or any airport as that is what I am going to do. They are total scam artists. I had rented a car with them through Expedia about a month or so before my trip but when I checked about a week before the trip the price was lower so I cancelled my original reservation and booked a new one. When we got to the rental counter, the agent pulled up and booked the old reservation but we noticed while still at the counter. She gave us some excuse that she could not do another electronic contract but would cancel the credit card charge and rent on the lower rate on a paper contract. We checked our credit card and the charge was refunded so we left with the rental under the paper contract. When we returned the car, we notice that they again charged us on the cancelled reservation at the higher rate. We could not reach the MCI airport location so were stuck talking to their call center in the Caribbean to customer service representatives who could not be more clueless or trained to give customers the run around. I spent hours on numerous calls to them and could not get it resolved. We then disputed the charge on the credit card. Lastly I tried contacting Expedia and they were able to get it sorted for us and we were refunded the difference in the rates and in the end paid the correct rate. The amount of time and aggravation to accomplish this is just not worth it, plus the fact that we had to rely on a third party to the agreement to fix the issue for us is also unacceptable. I will never rent from Dollar again at any rental location regardless of price differential and suggest you do the same.

I am a 1st time renter and I had low expectations for the economy car I rented because of how affordable it was and due to the previous bad reviews. The car exceeded my expectations. Everything about the car was amazing; clean, had car play, new, etc. The car was ready for pick up on time, and it was easy to leave with it. The staff wasn't outstanding, but I was serviced and got what I needed, so that's all that matters. I would rent again from Dollar!I wish there was better signs or directions provided before picking up the rental or at the rental site. Finding parking & where to enter was difficult. Dollar had their own station but was closed and someone told me that Dollar service is located at Hertz service desk.

Recently rented a standard SUV on our family vacation. Staff was friendly and helpful. Car was clean and tank was full. Price was better than competitors. Smooth & easy retun as well.

I wish there was a negative rating because zero is being to kind. I rented a large suv for when our daughter and her family were visiting from Massachusetts requested a noon pick up on 6/28, I arrived at 2pm to pick up the car requested. When I made my reservation I was guaranteed a Nissan Pathfinder or something similar. This was doomed from the moment I arrived, understaffed and unorganized, I kept noticing people leaving the counter and having a seat, I soon would find out why. I was asked why I needed the car, that's none of your business, I told them anyway hauling 4 grandchildren, I was then told they had to find a car for me and to please hav3 a seat. Have a seat, no car, what kind of fly by night outfit is this, I finally get told they have a car for me, I am a disabled veteran, pretty crappy the way they pull this off, I am told my car is ready and told what stall, the very last stall, car is wide open running and air conditioning running, it didn't take for me to add this all up, I was given a subaru to haul 6adults and teenage girls. This explains why I had to take the hike, knew I wouldn't make the hike back. Guess what dollar? There are a lot of auto rental companies, I don't care if I have to pay twice the price as long as I get what I am paying for. CONSUMERS YOU HAVE WARNED

Reserved a car 3 weeks prior to pickup date. On arrival they had zero cars available. Did not give me any advanced notice and had no way to remedy the situation. Essentially said too bad and told me to try a different company.

At the La Guardia location, we had to wait in line FOUR hours to pick up our rental and did not get the car we reserved. There were no explanations offered by the staff, no apologies. We had to stand outside in the heat until we moved up in the line enough to get inside. UNACCEPTABLE. My first experience here will be my last.

Worst rental company ever. Do not rent from this place. They are scam run by Hertz Rental to obtain fraudulent business. You will find Dollar or Thrifty to be cheapest option. At the rental location, they are always out of car and forward you to Hertz. At that point, Hertz will charge you whatever they like. A brilliant Scamming idea to by Hertz - Dollar - Thrifty.I rented an SUV for 10 days from DCA airport for $644. I ended up paying more than $1100. I hope someone will take legal action to stop their harassment and fraudulent business policy.0 rating.

This place sucks. I wasn't able to get the car I rented months ago because I didn't have the card I booked with on me. I asked to cancel and they couldn't do that either. I asked if they do anything and they just said "bye!" so I walked away, called to cancel and went to national. Much better experience there. Don't rent from Dollar, they are awful.

These folks were not there when I returned the car. I had a partial tank of gas when I checked the car out. Thus, when I returned the car, it had a partial tank of gas (just like when they gave it to me). They charged me $60 for the tank filling service. These guys are stealing! DON'T USE!!!The return was totally confusing, with nobody present. Really soured me on Dollar. The wait for the check out took, like, FOREVER. one person helping and 10 people in line. Use UBER!
