I stayed here because of the price and location to North KC. It could definitely use some cleaning in the halls and exterior. There were some stains on the wall. However, most importantly the bed and bathroom were clean. For just needing one night stay at a cheap rate I'm good if those 2 things are

Absolute WORST and I mean WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. If I could give zero or negative stars I would. I travel a lot for work and I thought straying away from a Marriot was a bad idea and wow was I proved correctly. Dirty bed, looked like a tweaker with lipstick put kiss marks all over the interior sheet so I probably slept in someone else’s filth. I wake up to crackheads arguing in the hallway a couple times at night and then again in the morning. Just SCREAMING in the hallway. Let’s talk about not having hot water either! No access to hot water and no discounted room when you knew about it before I checked in? No refund of the room and told to go somewhere else? And your explanation for not having hot water is “it’s the holidays” like really. I feel like I paid 100$ to sleep in a halfway house. DO NOT STAY HERE. YOURE BETTER OFF SLEEPING IN THE DENNYS PARKING LOT ACROSS THE STREET. AT LEAST THEIR SEATS ARE CLEAN AND THEY HAVE HOT WATER

I wouldn’t even give it a star. I don’t even know where to start. Mystery sludge on the bed skirt, toilet was broke and bathroom was moldy and had whatever all over the floor. Mystery fluid running down the walls. Everything was gross. Felt like I was getting bit by bugs. I wouldn’t take anything out of my bag and slept in my clothes. I’m going somewhere else to shower this morning. A rest area and shower in the sink would be better. On top of the completely disgusting room, the people looming around were absolutely scary. I was scared to walk to the car alone. Standing at the front desk I had men looking me up and down. Last night I cried myself to sleep. It WAS that BAD. Find anywhere else to stay. ANYWHERE. It’s not worth saving a couple bucks.

After now reading the reviews I guess my experience is somewhat normal. I was given a room key to someone else’s room and then told the front desk clerk couldn’t locate my confirmation number and that I hadn’t paid. Which I thought was strange since he handed me a key card when I told him my name. When I asked to see whose name was listed on the paperwork he showed me and someone else was in my room and had used my reservation. I asked how that was possible unless they had my drivers license and he didn’t have an answer, just said he would have to look into it when they got back to the room. So needless to say I still haven’t gotten my money back and I had to go rent a room somewhere else that night. Honestly I wouldn’t feel safe staying there with how easy it is to get a key to anyone’s room.

Room Stunck like bleach , BIG roaches , elevator was out of service , people had to shake the vending machine & bathroom was missing parts of the ceiling . I have a 3 month old that was not a safety place to put him in . I checked out the same day I checked

The lady at the front desk is always rude and difficult to deal with. This place used to be super friendly and easy to deal with until her. Rooms are decent and the location and price is right.

What a ridiculously bad experience! When you walk in the lobby and everything is broken, your expectations go down, but then when they give you your key to check in and the room is already OCCUPIED?? When we went back down to tell the front desk and request a refund they had to call and check if they could give us a refund for sending us to an already occupied room. Everything stunk of cigarette smoke, the staff were smoking and drinking right in front of the entrance. When one of them overheard our complaints he went to the front desk staff and said “oh yeah, meant to tell you not to rent that room out. Also don’t rent out room 339, I know what’s going down there.”Almost a comically bad experience. Would not recommend wasting your time.

Took 20 minutes to get checked in, standing and waiting. $100 deposit in addition to the nightly rate. Rooms smelled terrible. Did not have continental breakfast like advertised. Staff was not very friendly. I would not suggest this hotel at all.

When we walked into the room the bed and comforter had stains on them. On our final day we found a cockroach in the bathroom. The sink had no water pressure. The room smelled foul walking in. When I walked to the front desk no one helped me for at least 15 minutes. I think that 1 star is too much for the hotel. I spent $185 on 2 nights and the price did not reflect the service or space. I will not be coming here again.

I wish I could leave zero star reviews, because that's what this place deserves. For starters, the staff were rude and unprofessional, there were cigarette burns everywhere despite the room being in the no smoking section, the tub was disgusting, the sheets had old bloodstains on them, the counter and mirror were broken, and there was no window screen on the window. I was with my sister, who called our mom to check in, when our mother called the hotel, they were unbelievably rude to her. The hallways smelled like weed, and the elevator was graffitied and rickety. When we asked for room service to change the sheets we were given the sheets and told "do it yourself", and when we asked them to clean up the disgusting spill on the floor, it took 2 hours for room service to get to us. He didn't even use a disinfectant, he scraped it off with a pocket knife. I'm never going to Econo Lodge again after this experience.
