Bravo Euston! Thanks to Tom (original Tom who has been there the longest, apparently there are three in total) and Cindy I was able to acquire a M10 x 1.0 die for repairing a thread on my moped crankshaft. This is after calling Home Depot, Lowes, visiting an ACE Hardware and calling another, no other hardware store had it on hand except for Euston. I am incredibly impressed at the availability in store so that I could make the repair on my cherished Maxi Sport and get it back on the road TODAY. The aspect that is equally impressive to the availability of the part is that I received a high five upon the purchase of this rare item! What an excellent experience.

Walked into the store and was asked multiple times (within 4 mins) if I wanted help. The younger male kept staring at me. Made me feel uncomfortable and unwanted. I wanted to note something, I had my 4 year old son with me. Based on other reviews. Sounds like they don't want children in their store.

I have never had a bad experience here but today's was just special.Typically after Thanksgiving I just so do not like being anywhere near anything retail.Went in today for a specific little project, needing little nuts and bolts and had so much incredible help from the man at that counter this morning. He was actually friendly, helpful and excited about helping as he stated he was fairly new and learning where everything else was himself. I kept returning to his aisle where he was working anytime I had a question as I know he was invested in a customer's experience. Not to sell other staff short the lady at the checkout was insanely friendly, happy and just made this pre-xmas shopping visit to a retail location positive. Thanks!

Children actively discouraged. And not a locally owned store. They were bought by a company called Summit about a year ago.We have been coming for years, since this location opened. I drop my oldest child at dance around the corner and my 3 year old and I walk around the shopping center visiting the ice cream store and the library AND my son’s favorite “The Tools Store!” No one has ever had a problem with us coming in, looking and yea touching the tools in the manner any adult customer would. We do not break things or leave a mess. Once an employee gentleman gave us a STIHL catalogue which my son treasures to this day. Most times my son talks me into buying candy and it’s convenient so I’ll buy that paintbrush or Garden Sprinkler, grass seed etc. I don’t mind the higher price vs. the bigger box stores because it’s convenient and (I thought) a locally owned store.Last Monday, October 3 an employee, a thin man with a long white ponytail asked if we needed help and I said that we like to come to look at all the tools. He followed us around the store for the remainder of our visit. Today, 6pm-ish October 10 the man saw us again and asked if we needed help, and he received my standard answer that my son likes to look at tools. At that moment my son was trying on a chainsaw PPE helmet. I could tell the guy didn’t like that so I put the helmet back and decided to start shopping in earnest for anything at the store I needed. I got three items in my cart when my son got antsy again so I took our cart out to the garden area. There they had some of their equipment for rent, everything stored safely, and connected with cables like you’d see on a bicycle lock. My son put his hand on the handle, Like Any Interested Adult Customer would do when we heard a voice. The man had followed us out there. “Don’t mess with the mowers.” That was enough. Clearly, if my kid and I were not welcome we cannot shop there. I picked up my son, placed him in the cart and turned around to give my unpaid for selections to him so that we could leave. But he’d vanished. Apparently he came out Just to reprimand us. I took the merchandise and gave it to the young ladies at the checkout counter, fought back tears and explained that I couldn’t buy the items because of what just happened.I guess I’ll be shopping at Lowes.

So, I really wanted to like this place. We just moved into the neighborhood and it’s close. So convenient. It’s clean, the employees are for the most part helpful and friendly. It’s about 40% more expensive than the bigger stores… but I am generally willing and able to spend the extra dollar to help out the small guys. But then, I was in there today - with a bunch of stuff on my list to buy - and asked to use the restroom and they told me they don’t let “the public” use the restroom. But I’m not the public. I’m your customer. This is something that REALLY irritates me. You chose a brick and mortar store and are selling goods to and taking money from human beings - they have to pee occasionally - that part of it. You should have a restroom. Period. I can basically understand the concept if you operate a business in an area where it would be an issue with messes or inappropriate behavior…. But this is a neighborhood literally surrounded by $300-400k homes. People aren’t going to be camping out in, sink showering or making messes in your bathroom. They cheerfully suggested I go next door and use their restroom… but I am not their customer they should not have to support the human needs of the entire shopping center.I’m not Euston Hardware’s customer anymore either.

A great neighborhood store, locally owned and operated. Are you going to go here if you are building a house and need lumber? Probably not. It is exactly what it says it is in the name, it’s a hardware store. The people are always friendly and they have mostly everything that you need for the house and yard. They service Stihl products as well with pretty quick turn around times. Support the little guy once in a while and keep much needed places like Euston Hardware in our neighborhoods!

Very nice people that work there. Very helpful. I have been looking for crepemyrtle plants for awhile. I found the last 2, just what I wanted and on sale. Perfect. I found a couple of other items I will be going back to get.

Thanks so much for helping me find a lock and sharpies at the last minute to take my wife to the Red Bridge. This store is really cool and the woman at the check out was super helpful!

I often save up hardware store errands so I can get them all done at this location. Have always had at least 1 employee, often more than 1, ask if I need assistance. Staff is chipper and selection is good. I personally prefer a shopping experience like this over wandering around a big box store. Here I get it and go and don't leave defeated, unlike what happens when I go to a "depot" of any kind ;)

Best customer services anywhere and I used to do the same at Home Depot's.and took pride in it but EVERYONE, was equally helpful and personable yet not chatty! So I got in and out and because there were so many so helpful from the front to the back I found they had 5 more items that I needed and would never have guessed they would be there. Also prices are better than most.

This store has the best customer service in Kansas City, hands down. You can't walk through the store without 3 or 4 people greeting you and asking if you need help. (It's is a FAR cry from Home Depot, which is like an employee ghost town.) Plus, at Euston Hardware, they know their stuff. (Again, a far cry from the big box stores.) Five stars!
