I'd highly recommend Jim Seibold and Bison Bank. Jim has been so communicative with us throughout our entire process and has made the buying process enjoyable. He's extremely knowledgeable and has a very fun and kind demeanor. I've had some questions during this process and he even answers the phone at nights, now that's thorough. We couldn't be more pleased.

Digital capabilities are slick and made for the future of lending. Loan officers feel less personable but that's likely a product of the hands off approach that digital capabilities bring.

I was a first time homebuyer. my lending agent John was without a doubt one of the best parts of my home buying experience. I had originally started with my local credit union, and even though I made that decision, John was still providing advice and guidance during my prequalifying. When the time came to put an offer in, and my slow, rude credit union could not give the sellers a # of days to close, John assured me that sub 30 days was very realistic for his company. I made the switch and never looked back. John's timeliness in working with my realtor to put together the best lending offer was key in us winning the bid on the home I wanted the most. His advice on appraisals, rate locking, escrow, and even home insurance helped me feel like an expert during closing when communicating with each group and making decisions. I plan to use FMD again in the future if/when the time comes to look at another mortgage product thanks to this experience.

Michael was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. My mortgage rate was significantly lower than expected and documents were ready with plenty of time to spare before closing.

This company is a huge joke! They provide you with constant horrible customer service. I was constantly bullied by my loan officer. My realtor was even mortified by his behavior. Then months after I thought I would never have to deal with them again they randomly run your credit - without consent. My loan is not even with them anymore!! Please save yourself the nightmare of this company. Go somewhere that cares.

My guy was responsive while I was searching. I had to redo my pre-approval letter a number of times for different properties (which is pretty normal). I ended up having a really tight deadline to put in an offer, and didn't have time to try to price match, so I went with a different lender. I didn't inform my guy at FMS, which is on me. But when my primary lender had a health emergency, I was in kind of a crisis and tried to come back to FMS. My lender basically told me, "you've been too much work for me, and you obviously weren't planning to tell me you went with someone else, so I don't want to work with you."
I'm sure he's on commission, and I'm sure he's got better prospects with other customers. So it comes down to, I didn't treat him all that well after I went with another lender, and he refused my business. Again, he's not really in the wrong here. It's just bad for the customer.

Overall good. Scott was always very responsive. First Mortgage says they support mortgage rate float down, but they rejected us three times when we asked to have our rate lowered when 30yr fixed mortgage rates experienced major drops a couple of times while we were getting our loan.
