Beautiful renovated building from the 20's that has retained its character. Friendly staff at every turn, great bar, 5 star restaurant, and a clean and modern rooom.

Had a good three night stay here with our team for a conference downtown. Price was reasonable and the front desk and door service was great. Rooms clean. Location was within walking distance of light rail and other coffee shops and restaurants. Valet parking per night was a bit more expensive than expected

Hotel Kansas City is truly one of the most inspiring places to photograph a wedding. The architecture, the textures, the historic charm — every corner feels intentional and elevated. The staff is always so welcoming and makes the entire experience seamless for both vendors and guests. Every time I shoot here, I walk away with some of my favorite images. It’s a dream venue in the heart of KC.

In the center of everything its a beautiful classic style hotel.
Great breakfast in the lobby, every person on staff was beyond nice and the prices are reasonable.
Room has French doors leading to the bathroom and stone accents everywhere.
We had an issue with the AC at 11pm AND THE MANAGER came to the room!

I stayed at Hotel Kansas City and was upgraded to the King Loft Suite with my Hyatt Globalist status. Check-in was smooth, and the staff member assisting me was friendly and professional. While I was admiring the lobby decor, he mentioned several rooms on other floors that I might enjoy viewing, which I appreciated. The hotel is a historic property, and I enjoyed seeing the architectural details and character throughout the building. Although I loved the charm of the historic spaces, I definitely appreciated and preferred the modern design of my hotel room.

Good: beautiful hotel, especially the lobby. Smells amazing. Interesting bar in the basement. Location is great for downtown (very close to Tom’s Town Distillery, which is fabulous). Breakfast was awkward to order from the coffee bar, but the taste was great, so I’ll take the walk up ordering system. I was told that globalist breakfast includes a meal, coffee, and juice. The room was pretty, and we had no issues. They gave us 2 free drink tickets for the bar downstairs, so that was nice.
Not great: we used a Guest of Honor award from Hyatt. I saw that standard suites were available, but I think that because I was just GOH/Explorist, they wouldn’t give me a suite. I could have brought it up, but I just didn’t want to go there, so it is what it is.
Bad: they charged me for one night when I booked on a free night and points night that they combined into one reservation. I asked for the charges to be removed. The front desk person said she’d have to get a manager to do it later. I got an email from the manager with an apology, but my card has been charged 3 different times, and I’ve received 3 different receipts. I was charged for mini bar purchases that we for sure did NOT make. I was charged for part of breakfast. None of the charges have yet to be reversed. I of course will give them a few days to correct this, but after that, I’ll have to take it to Hyatt, I guess. The whole billing things (when I tried to fix it in person) has been a total headache.

I booked my room for this hotel early August 2025 for an upcoming conference. I specifically chose this one because it was close by and I could walk back and forth if needed as I just had a baby and needed to be able to get back to my room to pump. They notified me a day and a half before I was to check-in that they cancelled my room for an engineering issue. They offered to book the Margaritaville hotel 25 minutes away from my conference and only that hotel and they were very rude and not helpful when I said that wouldn't work for me. Thankfully I ended up finding a different hotel on my own but was very stressful. I will not be using this hotel in the future.

Stayed here a few years ago. Loved it, but the hotel gave my Shining vibes, especially with that damned painting of red-headed woman.
Was so tired the next day. Everyone in the elevator was bleary eyed, freaked out by that painting.

An absolutely wonderful hotel. You can tell that they took an old building and remodeled it with some up-to-date amenities, while still holding on to the glamour and elegance that it once was. For me, I had corner room with a splendid view. Can't wait to stay again.

Was onsite merely for a business function so had no engagement with their rooms. However my engagement with the staff was quite pleasant, professional and very attentive to my needs. Their location provided a variety of entertainment options in walking distance. It will definitely be our downtown choice the next time we stay down there
