As of 2023-2024 the store has deteriorated seriously. It looks like a bad junk store. Empty, messy shelves...a shadow of it's former self. And the staff! I was there yesterday, February 3rd 2024, and it looked like a bunch of teenagers run it now! Sorry! but you need new management.

This store sucks now. I've been coming to this specific location for over 10+ years to try and avoid Hobby Lobby and it has degraded severely. I don't know if they just don't care or can't be bothered to hire more people since the profits are still coming in, but Joann's off Barry has tanked. It's gone from stocked, class room operating, people using machines, and helpful employees to rows of empty shelves/isles, things open everywhere and MAYBE 2 employees in the entire store at any given moment. Tried to give it a bit after Covid, but it has not improved- only worsened in the last 3 years. I will not even try coming back anymore.

Beware: This location is perpetually out of gift cards. If they attempt to sell you an E gift card, do not do it. They will take your $, and not sell you a gift card.

I come to this store weekly for the past several years. I don't know what is happening, but the store has been in awful shape and gone downhill since this past fall. Shelves aren't stocked. Merchandise isn't priced consistently, boxes and boxes of merchandise are stacked in carts and on rolling shelves left in the aisles. One or two people are working in the entire store. One person is at checkout and nearly in tears because there are 15 people in line, "patiently" waiting to check out. It's really gotten ridiculous and I hope someone can come in and get this place turned around and bustling again. Please!

Curbside pickup was slower than a 7 year itch. We called and she said she’d “try” to bring it out. Never did. Was late to family Christmas.

Ohmygawsh. I live in Overland Park and this site is waaaay better when it comes to sewing/cutting fabric staff! They're funny, kind, helpful....amazing. Ones in OP don't smile, and act like you're bothering them. Save for the much older lady. She's professional and kind Way to go Barry Road. Every Joanns store has great prices and lots of products to choose from as well as friendly staff everywhere (minus cutting at OP) Thank you.

Store was a mess. Boxes upon boxes of items that showed in stock but couldn't get to because of the sheer volume of unpacked stuff. There were maybe 3 people working there. The employees were very kind, but obviously stressed. Pay them better wages and maybe you won't have severe turnover!!!

I found an item that I wanted at Joann.com, however, it was available at a local store. I decided to drive several miles to the local store to pick it up. Internet informed me that there was four in stock. I went to the store on Saturday after Black Friday. The store was a mess! Disorganized and empty shelves. I located where the item was supposed to be. There were none on the shelf. I made the decision then to order online than from local retail stores. They are disorganized, short staffed, and inventory not accurate to waste gas for local shopping.

First time coming to this location. May very well be the last. Nothing stocked, boxes everywhere, couldn't get around the isles due to clutter and product everywhere. Hard to find what we're looking for when the shelves are empty. Hard for a store to be profitable if they don't unpack the boxes and stock the shelves. Icing on the cake was when the sweetest cashier Brittany was checking us out and the store manager came up to her in front of the customers and was extremely rude to this overly kind girl. This cashier was one of the most personable and genuinely kind hearted employees I've had the privilege to be waited on by. We were going to ask if they needed some very short time help to get their store back in order until we witnessed management interacting with employees.? now we can completely understand why they're short staffed. Management should be ashamed.

Overall, I love this store and everyone is so nice. However, there is this one employee I always have problems with. The cashier number is 848300, I’ve only had her twice and both times it had been a horrible experience. The first time I had her I asked if I could put my phone number in, she then proceeded to glare and me and tell me “I didn’t ask you.” It was a large purchase and I missed out on those points because of her. The second time I had her was today and when I saw she was the only cashier, I literally debated just leaving instead. Again, I asked if I could put my phone number in and she SIGHED at me and waited for me to tell her my phone number. After, all she did was glare at me and didn’t say a word.She has faded pink hair just to be clear. It is never fun shopping here when she’s working.

The cashiers working today around 2:45-3pm were awesome. The managers on duty were not. The cashier who helped me called out on the headset for help twice before I got up there and once when they couldn't find my order and she told me that they weren't responding to her at all. How hard is it to press a button on your headset and say something, even if it's to say you can't assist? The line was stretched beyond the queue line and not a single person responded to requests for backup, help with a customer issue ahead of me, or help finding my order.Laura, if you're still the store manager, I hope you aren't still hiding in the office all day like when you started at this location and are actually working. And to the DM who had/has an office at this store, you're a jackass and always will be.

Oh my goodness. The store was very much in disarray. Obviously they didn't have enough people to work today I felt bad for the people working. All I wanted was one thing of elastic and there were four people in front of me in line and only one checker. I just left my elastic on the counter and left. Sorry.

When I waiting for my pick order to be ready since their inventory is shown available online. Later I’ve was notified that two of my orders were canceled. Overall I was disappointed of there dishonesty and waste of time. Michaels Is always better to shop for arts and crafts.
