We stayed last night in the carriage house Beacon room and were delighted. Room was large with stands on each side of bed for CPAP machines. Walk in shower was great. Bed was comfortable. Played games in large house with grand children who visited after dinner. Only suggestions would be.: Grabbars in shower and by toilet would make it totally handicap accessible . Both robes were S/M. Better if L/XL. Small people can always wrap it around. Larger people can not use the small. Loved the place and hope to stay againNorma and Rick from Lake of Ozarks.

I loved staying in the Beacon Hill room in the Carriage House at Oak Street Mansion! It was easy to visit the Nelson-Atkins and Kemper museums, which were across the street, and easy to take a Lyft or Uber to downtown. The room was clean, cute, and cozy and the bed was a dream. I also appreciated the keyless entry system for all spaces, including the room. The only minor glitch was the newly renovated shower, which needs time to warm up in the morning when it's cold. But there is a sign in the bathroom indicating that visitors need to let the water warm up. Other than that very minor issue, I was very happy with my stay here and would recommend it!

Disappointing Boutique Hotel that is charming but has some run-down features in the room and NOT worth the money. Should have been sooooo much better. Would NOT recommend for the money. There is no staff on property (which they let you know about) and there is an emergency number but the problems were not emergency worthy. The Good:GREAT location. Walking distance to the art museum. Easy parking. Attractive building and shared spaces. Engaging gallery room on the main floor. Light-filled comfortable sunroom. Comfy bed.The Bad:Should be more upfront about lack of elevator and just how many steps. I use a cane and can use stairs and willing booked on the third floor. I would have appreciated knowing that there were double flights for each floor. I travel a lot and I find more places address things that hinder mobility more directly.I stayed in The Crestwood on the 3rd floor. Attractive decor. Soft mattress and nice sheets. Very disappointing in the details. The carpet was old with visible stains. The carpet where is adjoined to bathroom tile was pulling up and unraveling.Missing art/paint off the walls (could see the hanging hooks) behind where one painting should have been was a large swath of missing pulled off paint.TV did not work. Even using the directions, both my husband and I tried.Keurig leaked from the bottom all over the desk.Coffee creamer in the room curdled when out into the coffee. No napkins or paper towels in the downstairs coffee bar in the Dining Room.So as you can see, nothing huge, but for $230 a night I’d expect it to not have a lot of rundown features. Just a major disappointment.

Bed was incredibly comfortable. Room was gorgeous, the shower was lovely. There was a stain on one of the pillows and the conditioner in the shower smelled bad. Otherwise no complaints.

We had a wonderful stay at Oak Street Mansion. It was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The contactless check-in was seamless and easy. We loved the art collection on display. The proximity to the Nelson-Atkins Museum is very nice, and being within walking distance of the Plaza is a huge plus. We loved it, and we plan on visiting again.Rooms: We were in Beacon Hill, and we loved it. Felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We didn't see a single person on the property the entire time we were there. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful.Nearby activities: Nelson-Atkins Museum, Kemper Museum of Art, Kansas City Art Institute, The Plaza.Walkability: There are sidewalks to the nearby museum and all the way to the Plaza. Very walkable.

My daughter and I stayed in the Roanoke room. Everything was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. If you’re a light sleeper like me, then bring ear plugs to drown out floor creaking above and air vent noises. Other than that, it was very close to KCAI where we toured for college options and very close to 2 art museums. Excellent food options right near you, too! We enjoyed our stay.Safety: The neighborhood seemed very safe and lined with beautiful homes.Walkability: You could easily walk to KCaI, the Kemper, or the Nelson Atkins art museum.

Stayed here for a short weekend away and absolutely loved it— we will be back! Room was very comfy, clean, plenty of space. Mansion was beautiful, charming, still lots of character. Our bathroom was really nice, comfortable bed and sheets, good AC, nice view. Great location central to everything. Next door to Nelson Atkins, walking distance to the plaza shopping, near Westport and Power and Light. Highly recommend!

I found this place in accident and it was perfect for our wedding. It was within 5 mins of our venue, the keyless check in was awesome, and there were amenities everywhere you looked. The room was clean and beautiful, the bathroom was amazing, and the balcony was private and lovely. We loved everything about our stay!

I've stayed at the Oak St Mansion several times over the years and it is my go-to # 1 place to stay in KC. On top of being a great location and great accommodations you often meet interesting people also staying there. The property, its management and guests are all 1st class.

Great place to stay! The rooms are very clean and lovely. Our room had a large walk-in tile shower and deep jetted tub. Our balcony was huge and covered. The house only has a few guest rooms so there is alot of privacy. Can't say enough how easy the booking process was and the owners are very responsive.

We stayed in the Southmoreland Room and without seeing any of the other rooms, have to assume that is the best room. The patio is huge. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. The tub is the best part and the bed was very comfortable. Some cons:We arrived during a storm so we attribute that as the reason the deck was not very clean. There was also a wasps nest on it.Wifi was very spotty.Shower was nice, but water pressure was less than ideal. It also doesn't get very hot. Warm enough though. It's an old house so the floors creek and you can hear people walking around, but other than that we never heard anyone.Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. It's in a quiet neighborhood and walking distance to a number of things.
