Oh Baby was a lifesaver for me. I was moving cross county weeks after the birth of my second and knew we’d need a soft landing when we got to KC. We lived about 40 minutes outside KC so wasn’t sure if we would be able to utilize services but Mary was so amazing and transparent up front about finding help for me and setting expectations. She kept in touch with me while out of town and ensured the right doulas were paired for my family. Both my doulas (Lydia and Terra) were perfectly suited for my family. They loved my infant son so well, gave me practical advice on feedings, etc. relieved me to do self care things for myself and we’re just delightful company overall. They also cleaned my house which was a big help! Upon completion of service Mary followed up to ensure I was doing well and ready to be on my own. 5 star service from beginning to end- would highly recommend a doula for any parents (new, current) or whether or not you have family helping. There’s something to be said about having help that know what to do and what to expect without having to explain it or risk hurting someone’s feelings. Thanks for lightening my load, Oh Baby!

We used Oh Baby KC for postpartum doula support. The doulas we worked with were wonderful, supportive, professional, knowledgeable and reliable. Can’t say enough good things! Melody, Taylor, and Chelsea were top notch.Admin/communication side was a little disappointing. I had to follow up to schedule meetings to meet our doulas initially and had a couple miscommunications before baby arrived. I also didn’t get emails/schedules that were supposed to go out automatically and had to follow up again. I’m pretty organized but someone who is less so might need to do more work on their end to make sure everything is lined up as needed. Mary was very responsive when these miscommunications happened and fixed things immediately.Note: I also think my due date was a really busy baby season because I had communication struggles with other doula services I reached out to.Overall, I highly recommend this service. It’s worth saving and spending your money. I feel much more myself and able to take care of my older daughter having had their assistance the last several weeks.

Moms, if you're wondering if you should or should not get doula care - look no further than this review. Hi, Kelsey here, pelvic floor PT and mom of 2. I've worked with Oh Baby! KC for a few years now and was once again blown away by their level of care they provided me for my 2nd baby. I used a postpartum doula my first month of my postpartum journey and it was wonderful. My doulas would come over and simply hold my baby so I could be who I wanted and needed to be for a few hours a week. Whether I would take a walk, work, or go lay in my bed alone to scroll IG, my PP doula allowed this for me. Everyone wants to care for the baby immediately postpartum, but you need to remember you matter too. So whether or not you chose to use your doula as someone to help around the house, hold your baby, or just an adult to talk with, a postpartum doula is worth the investment.

We can’t say enough good things about Oh Baby KC. Mary was super helpful in getting us expedited help after I delivered early. They’ve been incredibly responsive, understanding, and generous with their help! We worked with her doula, Dawn, who has been fabulous! Dawn was incredibly professional, worked with our schedules and offered helpful advice for soothing our colicky babe and setting up a sleeping schedule. Having one night a week we can count on sleep, during this sleep deprived time has been life saving. Dawn got to know our whole family, including our dog, and we’ve come to trust her likefamily. This is one of the best investments we have made for both ourselves and our son. Hire them!

Oh Baby! KC was a true lifesaver when I needed to get some rest postpartum. As a first time mom, I was running on little sleep and just trying to survive. Having overnight support a few times a week made a world of difference. Knowing my little one was in great hands helped me relax and wake up ready to be the best mom I could be. Special shoutout to Ali, Nicole, Michaella, Chelsea, and Mary! Everyone I worked with was so sweet, professional, and made me feel at ease. Already thinking about booking them for baby #2. :)

With Darla’s support, I went from feeling pretty completely clueless as to how to help my baby achieve more-consistent, better-quality sleep, to feeling confident in my ability to navigate his needs. I did not anticipate (and was not prepared for) how challenging sleep was going to be for our third baby: after multiple failed attempts at sleep training via another sleep coaching service, and after nearly a year of sleepless nights, I called Oh Baby desperate for help. Darla’s holistic approach was reassuring and insightful, and her 24-hour stay with our family to observe and offer gentle guidance & support turned out to be (quite literally) life changing for us.

Darla was able to come observe and really finally gave us pathways to care and support. Her validation that he had more going on health wise helped to support conversations and solutions with our pediatrician. Literally implementing just two changes from her plan got him waking only two times the first night compared to 4-6 times a night. We have been doing the plan she gave us for almost five months now and we are out of both of kiddos rooms by 7:30 pm now, and they are sleeping through the night. ??❤️ I so appreciated her helping us to navigate and still support nursing and mommy snuggles into our plan and keeping things gentle. It was such a huge help to also be able to text her while we were implementing the plan, especially at the start. All-in-all I highly recommend her services. It’s 1000% worth it.

Darla was so helpful for our family. Her gentle sleep coaching and custom plan have made a huge difference in our baby’s sleep. Couldn’t recommend her services more! Our baby has been happier and healthier since we started Darla’s sleep coaching.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Oh Baby! & recommend their services to anyone I know looking for postpartum support. The team of women were so incredible & I was so sad when my son started sleeping through the night & didn't get to see them anymore. I felt so relaxed & confident going to bed knowing he was in the very best hands. It transformed my postpartum experience to one I now look fondly on.

We had our second child several weeks ago and quickly realized we were in over our heads chasing a toddler with very little sleep. We reached out to Oh Baby KC! and heard back the same day. Mary listened to my needs & desires, and although it was such short notice, was able to get us overnight doula help for all of the days requested. Darla & Courtney have been incredible. I truly couldn’t say enough good things about their calm demeanor, reassuring words, or skills with a newborn. They have been a God-send to our family!! Don’t hesitate to reach out to Oh Baby KC! It will be the best decision you make for your family.

We used Oh Baby’s virtual doula services for the birth of my son in September. My main goal was to have someone available to walk my husband through his support role, knowing from experience that I would be too “in the zone” to communicate to him exactly what I needed. Mary helped us review and plan for labor ahead of time, and helped provide him with strategies to turn to and to research before the big event. This was beneficial for me, as well - having someone to hash out my fears and worries with surrounding labor was SO helpful, and having a plan B (and C ?) gave me the peace of mind I had been looking for....!Mary checked in with me frequently leading up to “Labor Day,” and was available for me to bounce ideas off of when different issues came up. She was available to my husband when I went into labor to touch base and make recommendations/refresh his memory on things I might need. I figured doula services would be well worth it, but had never actually had one for my own birth before. As it turned out, having Mary’s help was invaluable. I know her help with education, planning, and walking through birth itself contributed to how well things went! I would 100% recommend her to anyone considering doula services.

I’m going to shout out Mary Pope for being the most magical doula in all the land !!We had and without Marys help coaching me AND my husband, I KNOW I wouldn’t have had the birth experience I did. I was able to labor through nearly all of the experience the way I wanted to thanks to her helping to keep me calm and focused. She helped me survive 3 days of back labor before my water even broke. Phew!! And then made it to us within an hour of calling her. In fact, when we had to get my baby to turn, SHE KNEW WHAT POSITION TO DO TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! Seriously incredible and invaluable to have her on our team. Her calm presence and knowledge of everything crazy going on really helped me.It was a long night and day and when it came to the pushing (which just thinking about totally freaked me out) she kept me focused and motivated. She even wrapped up our placenta ??????So if you’re thinking of hiring a doula - do it now. ?

Hiring a birth doula is something that is something you may not have considered before pregnancy. Or maybe it’s something you never had even heard of, and you had to google doula and find out what on earth that word even meant. I’m here to tell you that a doula provides an immeasurable amount of support for not only the mom in labor, but for her partner, her relatives and even the nurses. At least that was my experience with Mary Pope.Mary met with me before I had my baby to make sure I felt comfortable with her and that she was my choice. I can honestly say that she made me feel instantly comfortable and I knew right away that my choice was to use her as my birth doula. Her thoroughness and insightful questions had me feeling very confident with the labor and delivery process with her. I had a very intense labor and delivery with my first baby and I knew that I wanted a different experience on many levels. One being the method of delivery, I was going for a vbac. Another experience that I didn’t know was missing was Mary.Looking back at my labor and delivery, Mary empowered me to believe in myself, in my power as a woman who had every capability to do amazing things. She knew exactly what to say in each moment. She was always encouraging, never made me feel like i didn’t have options or choices and was my absolute advocate in every step of the way when it came to ensuring I got the vbac I wanted and that this birth ended up different. She gave me back the feeling that I had control over my choices and the outcome of my labor and delivery. She literally gave me a gift that was vitally important to my labor and delivery process, which was the feeling of being in control and taking my story back. Things obviously didn’t go 100% how I had written them out on paper, but in birth they never do. However, I know they went exactly how they were supposed to go in order for me to achieve the redemptive vbac that I had so desperately hoped for. That I had so desperately planned for, went through so much emotionally and personally for. What I didn’t realize is how indispensable the service Mary provides would be. She believed in me, she supported me (and also my spouse, my mom, and sister who also happened to be in the room), she reassured me, she empowered my choices, she cheered me on, she wiped away tears, she helped me use the bathroom while I was in the throes of labor, she held my hand, and she helped me get the birth, that I deep down, knew I was capable of.If for any reason you are wavering about whether or not you need a birth doula, I hope this little peek inside my birth makes you feel like this decision is a good one. I can tell you first hand that I wouldn’t want to do this again without the support of Mary by my side.
