Whew. If we were playing a word association game and you gave me the name of this store, my immediate response would be "patchouli." This place was so permeated with the rancid smell of incense that I can't imagine buying anything that had been stewing in it for any length of time. And that's a shame because they appeared to have some cool stuff. Everything seems to be vintage, as opposed to some places where it's sort of piecemeal. They also have some funky antique items but the major emplasis was the clothes. I was put off too because when we came in the two people sitting up front could barely be bothered to look up and say hello. If I lived in town, I wouldn't return, especially with other options down the block.

Awesome place to shop. The owner is super nice and extremely knowledgeable. If she doesn't have what you want, she will search it out for you. Tons of vintage jewelry. Very reasonably priced.

A fun vintage stop. Good location in West 39th St. The girl working there (pretty sure the owner) was friendly and helpful. When I walked in she said everything was 20% off today-- cool. Saw a lot of vintage from the 70s/80s, especially dresses and skirts. Nice men's section with shirts, blazers, and even suede bell bottoms lol. I do feel like the store could have been cleaner in general: the space itself but also the clothes and shoes. Or maybe a more gentle-used-vintage selection? I noticed some of the items were quite worn. But hey, I found something there that I'd been looking for forEVER and it was in great condition with an unbeatable price! So I will definitely go back if I'm in the area again. Yay vintage!

Great little vintage boutique in the 39th street neighborhood. Their inventory cycles fairly often, and the staff is friendly (not to mention the adorably sweet shop dog, Boo). Prices are reasonable, and the selection has a decent amount for both men and women. To top it off, they're active on their Facebook page, and frequently post updates of new stock as it comes in. If you're in the area, I highly suggest you stop in.

I was visiting from out of town so was happy when I walked up to see they were open when most of the other stores around are closed on Mondays. The woman working was a doll. She had her dog with her and encouraged us to bring ours in when we told her he was waiting for us outside. The dogs played while I shopped. I ended up leaving with two pieces of clothing that day, one being an amazing fur coat. The prices and selection were great and the service was even better. I will definitely be visiting Rock Candy Boutique the next time I am in town.

This is a vintage store that keeps on giving!!!The owners Shannon & Boo also involve sale weekends into donations for local food pantries! Every day there are new treasures and unique items that suit all who enter. If you are looking for REAL DEAL in vintage style, you will find it here. The prices are amazing and the items (some even from the 30's) are in excellent shape and ready to wear. I have purchased everything from western shirts to pencil skirts!

A very cool little shop that specializes in vintage clothing. The staff has that Midwest friendliness that is sweet and refreshing and the clothing is cool to check out. There are some clothes for guys but over all this is a place for the gals. :)

You know how it's super chic to come to the party late? Hopefully, this means I'm just unbelievably cool. It's not that I don't like Volker/39th, I'm just slowly discovering it! I was the first person in Rock Candy the other morning and was greeted by a BIG puppy and its owner, who were both pretty awesome. I love the decor with the big colorful couch and ah! The shoes that lined the walls, (note to self, own enough shoes to line walls with.) I have not yet decided to go the vintage suitcase route but Rock Candy may have tipped me a little more toward it. I'm in love with the hard case (ain't that the truth.) I was impressed with the jewelry and hat selection as well. In the end I bought two necklaces for around 26.00, both with interesting chains and have already worn them twice. No clothes there for plus size that I saw but I'll keep coming back to check. Also, to keep tabs on their inventory "like" them on Facebook.

One of my new favorite places to stop in at in midtown! Selection is always fun, and prices reasonable. Very friendly, fun staff, and a cool atmosphere. What more could a girl want?

Today I went back to dance with the ladies and gentlemen of Rock Candy Boutique and let me tell you, my dance card was FULL by the time I left! Reason? Rock Candy has moved and now offers a more spacious dance floor so all the frocks, sweaters, shirts & slacks can mix and mingle (while remaining tastefully separated for your perusal...ladies still on one side and gents on the other... the unmentionables are in the back). Love this store more than ever. What else do you need to know? They are all affordable. Read: inexpensive, never cheap. So, no guilt and no walk of shame in the morning.

I'll start off with saying that I didn't go in here of my own accord. You won't find me typically in these stores. With that all aside, I liked it. They had some really neat coats (including furs), shoes, and other vintage wear at very reasonable prices and in good condition. They greeted us as we entered the store and gave us smiles as we went around looking. The customers coming in and out also seemed happy. The parking and traffic can be tense at times in the area. That's the only bad thing about the location.
