Absolutely everything on the menu is fantastic. The farm-to-table food is generally higher quality and more ethically sourced, and kitchen staff do an incredible job a maintaining flavor and richness without adding unnecessary greasiness to the food.Cocktails are not cheap (but reasonable), and crafted to high standards without shorting you on spirit.Highly recommend.

At Rye, the journey begins with appetizers that set the stage for a remarkable dining experience. Start your meal with the deviled eggs and cheese curds, a delightful combination of familiar favorites with a Midwestern twist. The deviled eggs are crafted to perfection, with creamy yolks and a hint of tanginess, while the cheese curds offer a satisfying crunch with each bite, showcasing the richness of locally sourced cheese. For the main course, indulge in the comforting flavors of the heartland with the chicken and dumplings, a soul-warming dish that transports you to Grandma's kitchen. Tender pieces of chicken are simmered in a hearty broth, accompanied by pillowy dumplings that melt in your mouth, creating a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.Alternatively, savor the succulent short ribs, a standout entree that exemplifies the culinary mastery of Rye's chefs. Slow-cooked to perfection, the short ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, infused with rich, savory flavors that tantalize the taste buds. Accompanied by seasonal vegetables and expertly prepared sides, each bite of this dish is a symphony of taste and texture, leaving you craving for more.At Rye, every dish tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and passion for Midwestern cuisine, making it a dining experience to remember.

My sister and I came here for lunch during restaurant week. The atmosphere is great and it's right on the plaza with a parking garage a 3 minute walk away as well as street parking which was a huge plus for us.We both ordered the Caesar salad and two pieces chicken meal. I ordered an espresso martini as well. The Caesar salad was fresh and the croutons were well seasoned with hints of garlic, but it tasted like someone had added salt on top of the salad which caused the dish to be extremely salty and take away from the experience. The fried chicken meal looked and tasted as if everything was made in house which we appreciated. The wings were moist and the larger breast piece was as well (although my sister's was a bit dry in places). The potatoes had a nice texture with a buttery and subtle sour cream taste. The pickles offered a nice bite to cut through the heaviness of the dish. However, the potatoes and chicken were both undersalted, which was very noticeable after the oversalted Caesar salad. The espresso martini was great, they made the espresso fresh.Overall, the ambiance was great and you could tell they made everything in house with an emphasis on local ingredients. However, the inconsistencies in the seasoning on the salad/entree dishes did effect the experience in a negative way.

Delicious! We hadn’t been here in some time and I was glad to find it did not disappoint. In a great location on the Plaza, this is a fine choice to dine with good food, good vibes, good service. It was pretty busy at our Saturday lunch time, but our service did not suffer (I recommend making a reservation however). Despite their good brunch options, I went with the shrimp & grits. The grits were different than what I’ve had before but in a good way. As much as I enjoy S&G, the beef and roux accented it beautifully and were the perfect compliments. Come hungry as it was pretty hearty and I noticed some of their other food in pretty large portions. They also have a nice cocktail list, both brunch and non-brunch.

If you haven’t tried this place you need to! It was some of the best food I have ever eaten. I got the chicken and dumplings! Never tasted anything that good. Micah was amazing and recommend getting the hot sauce which is made in house!

He got shrimp and grits which were overcooked. I got the loaded baked potato and fried chicken. The fried chicken was good but the baked potato was overcooked and not really “loaded.” The drinks were good as well. The waiter was friendly but did not make any recommendations or ask us if it was our first time there (it was). The food was okay but not worth the prices we paid. The farm fresh vibe was really nice and everyone was very friendly. The dessert I got to-go was the Dutch apple pie and it was delicious-but again, for the quantity, not worth $10.50.

Called up here today to see if I could order a lemon meringue pie..for my spouse Birthday..the person (mgr) I spoke with told me that they cannot sell me a pie and that I am supposed call to order one at least 48 hours in advance. So when I questioned as to why..He tells me “we” can’t sell you pie because we won’t have enough for service, that makes no sense ..so if I walk in there right now with six people at my table and we all order a slice of pie well.. guess what? You just sold the pie .. that you couldn’t sell me.. I will never support this restaurant ever again. Rye may want to work on their hospitality skills ..you don’t tell a customer “we” can’t.
