Super happy with my experience overall. Faye and Carai's Soul Food Kitchen located inside the store was WONDERFUL!The food was hot and fresh. The chicken breading was incredibly crispy and flavorful, they even made a sample piece for me to try while my made to order, hot, and fresh dinner cooked. It didn't take too long to cook, but even if it had good food isn't always fast and I found it WELL worth the wait! The chicken is so crispy, spicy, and big. Y'all know the dang chicken wings in some restaurants look like they come off a pigeon now; these ARE NOT smallI think my favorite might actually have been the cabbage and green side dish, though. One bite and I was catapulted back to 5 years old at my babysitter's house tasting greens and cabbage for the very first time. I haven't thought about her in about 40 years. That renewed memory added another layer to an already very satisfying meal.I could not have asked for anything better for dinner tonight

Faye and Carai's Soul Food Kitchen inside the gas station. To be honest, the food inside is awful. There is no soul here. I got tacos and the meat was reheated in the microwave. Old El Paso shells they opened up and Pace sauce. They didn't put any cheese on the tacos. The mac n cheese he reheated in a microwave for 1 minute and melted the container. Plus it was still cold. The guy was on the phone the whole time. I posted in Northland Eateries my honest opinion and experience but it got deleted already. They only allow posititve posts. No truthful posts about quality. The food prep area looked like it was abandoned. Avoid at all costs folks. Just being honest. They are screwing people over at these prices for zero quality.

3 stars overall, the employees are very nice to me every time, though the older woman gives my fiancee dirty looks every time she goes in with me or alone. I'm glad they did a "remodel" and added more convenience items, which is always a plus for Claycomo. They definitely need to work on cleaning the retail side and outside. Pretty frequently you can visibly tell the place is dirty, and if you can't see it you can get a wiff. Also, cleaning outside. Picking up the mini bottles of booze and cigarettes and whatever else. Making sure they are keeping an eye on women in the parking lot on their cameras would be great as well. I've now been approached and propositioned by drunks and/or druggies many times. The alcohol selection is pretty good. The new food place they have inside is disappointing unfortunately. Fresh out of the oil the basa is good, once it gets cold on the drive home it's completely different. The sides on the other hand are not good at alllll. The mac n cheese is actually horrible, pale and flavorless. It had some unknown grey stuff in it, maybe canned mushroom? The candied yams taste canned and had no flavor either and they were totally cold after a 4 minute drive. I also only got 3 pieces of yam and about two regular spoons full of their mac n cheese. The sides by themselves costs $6 which is entirely too expensive for what you get. The basket with the fish and two sides is $15, and considering how much they skimp on sides that's also price gouging. If you want to get a couple pieces of fish to snack on maybe do that...but I won't be purchasing the food again. If you don't like a heavily peppered batter be mindful of that with the fish, you certainly taste the big pieces of pepper.

The chicken gizzards are amazing. I like the tenders and the catfish as well. It's all battered fresh. None of that pre frozen stuff.Great customer service.

Fair price at the pump considering the times. I didn't buy alcohol but it had a wide selection.
