The leasing agent that helped me in the beginning lied through her teeth time and time again. I had so many issues with my apartment and she would constantly lie, evade and act condescending to me about the updates. While she is still there, I know there is new management working and I hope that they will get this place into shape for the current and future residents. I will never personally recommend living here to anyone.
Outside of my personal issues with the property, here are some highlights of the property
1. The area has dog poop all around, residents will take their dogs out and not clean up after them, even at the dog areas with bags. It smells bad and makes walks very hard.
2. Walls are VERY thin. It’s something you can get used to, but very startling when you first move in and get used to the neighbors affecting.
3. Construction has been going on for a very long time, and parking is incredibly difficult to find. Tires did pop from debris/equipment thrown around. There was also a point where Soda cans/trash would get left all over the construction, including the patios being worked on.
4. Pools are never prepared to be open, and as long as I was there the hot tub was open for about three months.
5. The resident events are nice, and there are plenty to get to experience.
6. It is in a very convenient location, and they did a good job on preparing everyone during winter.

Got set up with a tour that THEY scheduled and showed up early to locked doors for the office and no answer on the phone either. Very unprofessional as we were excited to potentially live here. Oh well.

I moved here in hope of finding an affordable but luxury feeling apartment. The apartment itself was great, but the complex not so much. There has been construction going on since I moved in and still isn’t finished. The hot tub did not work for the longest time and neither did the sauna. During construction the first summer I lived here, the pools were shut down randomly for the construction and never did us residents receive any compensation for the amenities not being what they were promised. I understand that amenities aren’t promised, but when they are included in your rent, you would think they would work. Some of the office staff is super nice and helpful. Some of them aren’t. Once construction is done this might be a great place, but I wouldn’t move here with the construction ongoing.

I want to express my concerns regarding the ongoing issues at this property. The site has been under repair since 2022 with no clear timeline for completion. Despite paying full rent, I have had no access to my balcony for over a year.
Several incidents have raised serious safety and maintenance concerns:
Vehicles have been damaged and garages have been hit by construction workers.
The hot tub was closed for six months, yet it was advertised as available to new tenants.
The back pool has only been operational for three weeks in over two years, with management citing a lack of available pool companies since the start of the summer season.
The back grill is non-functional, and screws and nails are often found on playgrounds and sidewalks, posing safety hazards.
There is only one entry and exit point in my building, which is a significant fire hazard.
All these issues have been communicated to the Regional Manager, VP, and President of Bach Homes/FourSite. Despite multiple emails, the only action taken has been the delayed opening of the front pool.
I hope these issues will be addressed promptly to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all residents.

I signed a lease Feb of 2024. I can visualize how beautiful this complex must have been when first built. Beautifully landscaped, a walking trail, pet park and other amenities. My understanding is that certain portions of the exterior building were improperly built causing water issues.
When I looked at the complex in feb. it looked terrible on the outside.
Lots of siding missing, large equipment parked, downspouts and railings on the ground, boarded up balconies and some sidewalks destroyed. But when shown the interior, I was pleasantly surprised. Stainless steel appliances, built in bookshelves, a great fireplace, washer/dryer hook ups, and granite counter tops. I chose a fourth floor unit (has elevator) with an awesome view off the deck, My place was spotless when I moved in. Perfect.
I was assured the construction would be completed in a few months. Since then, in three months, the work has come a long, long way. And this place is slowly coming back!
The location is ideal for getting anywhere you need to go. Liberty, KC, Gladstone, Smithville, Zona Rosa.... The lay out of the apartment is very practical and not your typical apartment footprint.. The only draw back is limited storage, but I have creatively solved that with using furniture with drawers, and under bed storage.
Yes, some of the amenities are not up and running, but I feel those will come in time once the vacancy rate goes up, which it will! Its too nice of a place not to be full.
Maintenance and management go out of their way to accomodate. The ongoing construction is annoying, but it will be over soon. I m sure the property owners will continue to improve on the amenities to keep this place full. If it werent for the construction going on, and some of the non functioning amenities, I would give this place a five star rating.

The single dumpster that is supposed to be for ELEVEN buildings is always overflowing, broken, or emitting a foul smell across the complex. They have designated areas of turf for your pets to relive themselves, but they are never cleaned or treated meaning when it gets above 50 you get to smell animal urine (no opening your windows on nice days! they’re everywhere!).
The Spa is always broken or under maintenance. The pool is grimy and disgusting. When we signed they advertised a massage bed in the “spa” area. It was never fixed and has since been removed with no replacement.
The whole place was poorly built. They have been replacing the siding for a year. I’m pretty sure the first time they told us it would be finished was March. Here we are in July with no end in sight. It sat half done all winter some people even had their windows covered during this. The workers put their supplies and machines in the parking spaces - yes even the paid ones, and no I have not received a refund despite calls and emails I get no reply. So good luck getting a hold of them! And the tow company they give you to enforce your paid spot never answers either.
Not to mention the fees. Lease activation fee, pet activation fee whatever they can think of, and that is on top of the deposit!
I’ll just keep adding stuff as i think of it:
I don’t think they had the carpets cleaned before moving in. we had to vacuum them multiple times and even go rent a cleaner and they were still so so dirty.

Great response and job well done with fixing the shower faucet. I’m still waiting on another work order but haven’t heard any updates on it yet.

PROS- Prior to the construction, I loved living at Steeplechase. The office staff is great, it was really nice, and maintenance comes the next day most times. It's a safe and nice area to live. Nice amenities
Cons- The ongoing construction has made it extremely annoying to live here. We were told construction would be complete November 2023, tomorrow is May and they aren't even halfway complete with these apartments. Construction leaves their equipment/ trash all over the place, blocks out all of our parking, and it looks a mess around here. We most definitely should NOT be paying full price in rent when we are not getting all that we signed for. This is completely unacceptable, would not recommend you move here for this exact reason.

I have lived here 2 years and never once had any issues. Management is very kind and helpful, maintenance is always quick. However, the ongoing construction has been ridiculous. You cannot ever park anywhere near your building if you come home after 7 PM which is not okay. They take up more spots than they need. You can’t use quite a few premiere spots because construction is taking them up. The amount you’re paying for rent you should be able to park outside your building. They also have no clue when it’s supposed to be done which is incredibly frustrating. First it was supposed to be done November of 2023 and now nobody knows. We should not have to be paying full price rent for all the construction and issues that come with it that we have all been dealing with for nearly a year. Not to mention you can’t even use your balcony. I would have no complaints if it wasn’t for this construction.

Overall the apartments are nice. Construction is ongoing and intermittent. It doesn’t seem to be in any sort of hurry. Parking spaces are being taken up by equipment. There are nails and construction scraps everywhere, both in the parking lots and on sidewalks/grass. The stairs up to the apartments are rusted and feel like they might fall out from under you on any given day. Maintenance also doesn’t ever seem to be in any sort of a hurry to respond to requests. Amenities are nice and clean. The office is always having some sort of contest or giveaway which is nice. Apartments are nice, spacious. Oh, and because of the location there is a continuous smell of cow manure throughout the complex.

Steeplechase has been amazing from Day 1! Communicative, supportive, and friendly staff and the apartments are beautiful! Great amenities for a reasonable price too. I feel welcome here.
