I love the staff and the prices are very inexpensive. Clean beds, nice towels and a stereo you can hear over the fans. The Wornall location is my favorite spot, but I don't live near there anymore, so I stop in when I have a short workday.

Every Saturday i show up at what says to be open @ 8am and I always end up leaving t 8:30 with no tanning. Poorly ran establishment.

I have been visiting this salon for a little over a year now and ultimately I have to say I am astounded at the improvement that has been made over the past few months. This salon is so clean and the staff is extremely helpful when I’m looking for answers pertaining to my tanning needs. I am truly giving this place five stars as it makes me happy to see management, the quality of staff, and even the salon itself improve so much.

I have been a member of suntan city for almost a decade. I have moved my membership across the country with me over the years, but I’m at the point where enough is enough. Most of the staff are lovely until you have any issues with your membership. They keep recommending packages when knowing the next day it will be over $100 cheaper without any moral compass. They could easily sell people an extra month and let them know about the upcoming deal. That simple gesture goes a long way and definitely helps with customer retention. Luckily, I was not one of those people but I’ve recently seen it happen. I couldn’t help but think how upset the person will be the next day and see the price drop. No, my issue(s) all have been due to smug attitudes when their response to you asking if your tour was up today or tomorrow with, “yesterday!” Then she pretends to be doing you a favor by making sure to look up the exact day for you and then using her fingers to count it out… with an added “actually, it was 2 days ago!” And a grin that makes you even more angry then you already were. The fact I was about to purchase my year membership when my tour expired makes this situation a quick fix instead of the offended and dissatisfied customer that wants nothing more than to go to her car and share the news of the wonderful customer service experience to google. Jeez, I used it twice… still had 3 left. I have plenty of points on my account, so upgrading on my own wouldn’t have been an issue. It would be free for me to do. There is something to be said when the idea of handing my credit card to that condescending girl behind the counter make you sick and honestly contemplating if she’s ruined tanning for you all together, and it’s not positive! The same girl that has let the fact that she sets the bed timers go to her head. The worst part is I am definitely not the only one. Every time I go in to tan there has been someone at the counter trying to go over their bill because it’s not adding up. That is not an exaggeration. Anyway, will I probably go back, yes… it’s close to my house, and just a few bad apples can be handled. This experience just made me need to take it to a review (which I never do; especially not a bad one… everyone has bad days, but this was too far). Oh, and I wouldn’t dare let that girl get the commission for the sale. I’ll wait until the night people are there and purchase from them, or maybe just through the app. Never get any attitude from the night crew. I apologize to the owner of this location. Your shop is mostly good, but your staff has over sold me 1 too many times, and like I said, I’m definitely not the only one.)

They're doing a great job of keeping it clean and they are super nice and helpful. I accidentally left my credit card there and they went above and beyond to find it and save it for me. The staff at this location really try to make you feel welcome and valued and they greet you with enthusiasm and kindness. Really glad the hours are longer again.

I usually have a great experience here. Fast ,friendly and clean. Great products here. I've never been made to feel out of place until a few days ago with an employee named Kate. I brought a friend and she was made to feel so uncomfortable and totally ignored by Kate that she was embarrassed to stay. Then I was treated like an outcast and didn't get what I asked for. Kate made me feel cheap for not knowing they don't take cash anymore. I hate to think how many customers with thinner skin have left with a sour taste from this employee. Aside from the one employee EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT HERE IS THE BEST IN TOWN.

I have been a manager of something for the past 15 years I have run multi million dollar restaurants and big box retail supercenters so I’ve had enough time that I can spot, exceptional value in an individual working with integrity to your customers, urgency to her duties, and exceeded past the position that she is in.I’ve written a review on suntan city, Olathe on the district manager, who could not keep a line moving for her life or focus on anyone other than the customer right in front of her, while customers were turning around, walking out the door and saying with only the look on their face that they were going to take their business elsewhere.This is my first time in the wornall location today, and it walked in with a line that was four deep, Desirae was at the counter, running two points of sale to get her customers checked in not once did she miss the opportunity to let her customers know that they were valued, and we’re being given a promotional discount for customer appreciation month; promptly attending to their needs and under 30 seconds or less and they were on their way. I’ve literally stood and watched an Olathe DM have a store full of people, gridlocked while she’s only talking to hear her head rattle.This sense of urgency is not found in a textbook, it cannot be trained. It is only delivered when the person who has mastered it has fully invested themselves into what they’re doing and if that is selling tanning lotion and sun bed memberships, ok. It’s not so much about the product they’re selling it’s how they are selling it. The investment that they are choosing to make an every customer interaction that they have.Suntan city listen up, because I know you just closed your Olathe store, and you are reducing your hours that people can get in after they’ve gotten off work, barely by 6 o’clock if they want to tan. These are small trimmings that you’re making that have my minor financial impacts compared to the ones that you would have with a store manager with an attitude that I saw standing at your wornall counter today. And how truly valuable that person was under your nose not being developed to their full potential.And just in case there’s someone within the sun tan city organization that reads this review, and calls it exaggerated, bloated or fake. Hand to my Bible I’ve never been in the store my life I have never met the associate that I’m sending this review for. I am somebody who has an innate ability to understand what my customer needs. When my customer needs it, before they know they need it and if y’all want to start opening stores up versus shutting them down, I would be putting her in charge one or put her in a position to spread her gifts across your company. If you don’t see the value in in developing, coaching and mentoring the people that are on the front lines, who succeed and exceed the customer’s expectation and leading before the title is even given. Somebody else will, someone already has, I guarantee it. And you just heard from one of them. Thank you Desirae for the impact you made on my day today. I absolutely love this salon. The manager Ashley has gone above and beyond for me in regards to the salon and for me personally. I would adopt her if she would let me, so please believe me when I say if she is willing to go the distance for me then I know she has and she will for anyone and everyone. That being said, when you have such a kind-hearted manager then you know how she is treating her team, how she is teaching her team to be towards the guests.Cleanliness within the salon I go to is top rated. I've been in some salons I've just turned right around and left. But that's what I'm looking for any type of salon I enter. How clean you keep your business goes a long ways with a lot of guests who enter your establishment and says a lot about the quality of work that you have done. The team has tons of knowledge on the products they are slinging so whatever questions you may have, they will be able to answer you. Everything about this business is on the up and up and they will never feed you any B.S.And that my fellow tanners had been my experience for 2 years now.

this is the 5th time i’ve tried to tan and i can’t bc ppl don’t show up to work. this is even a differnt location. i’m annoyed bc i pay for my membership and i hardly tan anyways and when i try this always happens. ridiculous

My sister and I had the BEST experience at this location. Not only was Ashley helpful to us but I witnessed several customers coming in and out who felt the same overwhelming gratitude that I felt. The staff seemed like a family, and I thought to myself, “this would be such a fun place to work.” I highly recommend this tanning salon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
