Worst nightmare of my life. Issues after issues after issues. Can't trust the owner.. Not trustworthy. Tells you one thing, you get another. Doesn't care for your life, nor your family's life only wants the money. Becareful of having them build a house. He shows you a house and claims that they built it, and in fact, the Amish build it. It was not the same quality by all means. Was 7 months late on starting my house, kept blaming covid. Covid is over, can't blame it anymore. Full of excuses. It's just awful. Speaking with some of his ex-employee's, he doesn't treat them right, and again, money hungry.I have so many pictures to justify this claim. Should probably take it to the Attorneys Generals Office. I still may, just to put them on the radar. I settled with them just to get them off of the property. One of the owners (Monty) is good to work with and trying to make things correct. One of their third party crews were very disrespectful. King City had a good reputation for themselves prior to 2019, but the quality and lack of knowledge in the field isn't up to standards. I am still finding issues with the build that's been brought to my attention from other skilled tradesmen that I have hired to fix prior work. Some structure, some assembly concerns regarding form, fit, and functionality. It is upsetting the deeper we get into it. New items that have been found by another contractors: walk in door was not king pinned to the floor as a commercial grade door should have been. The garage doors were hung incorrectly, lift cables have already broke. Big cedar post on front porch has two Rough sides and two smooth sides at which is standard but they were not installed with the same orientation in relation to which direction the rough cut side faced. Every other post is different. No attention to details. The windows that I had provided that King City installed, were not installed properly. All window leaked from the summer rains. King City wanted to caulk joints. I would not let that happen. Caulk is not a permanent fix. I spoke with the window manufacturer (Anderson). All vertical shims were missing. Once that was completed there has been no leaks. The caulk they did use, looks like they used it during a wind storm. There is so much dirt and debries in the caulk. It will need to be removed and done right. They are just sloppy builders. It's a disaster. I hope and pray Karma bites them.

I drove from Texas to northern MO to meet with these guys on 4/8 and doug was great. I canceled my meetings with other contractors because I decided I wanted to use them. It’s almost sept now and I never got a quote that was supposed to take a couple of weeks. doug quit returning my texts and calls about a month ago so now I’m having to start over. A friend of mine referred me to king city lumber so I hope my experience isn’t the norm

They put up a new implement building for us. Excellent structure with great service. We had new Windows installed in our home. They are a great investment and have helped reduce heating and cooling costs. We just recently ordered a new cattle barn. Can hardly wait for it to be put up !
