“Anything car related STRESSES me out. I needed an inspection today and I understand places are busy but 2 places I stopped didn't do them, 2 were rude and then I stopped at J&K after a recommendation from Hunter Tire. I was so grateful they could get me in but even more grateful they were friendly and very approachable. I noticed they won the best of Kirksville award for 2025, a well deserved award in my opinion and based on others they must do a good job in other areas besides just inspections and being friendly. I will definitely be going back!”
“I stopped in on a December Saturday with an engine light on and an OBD2 code printout from AutoZone. They quickly told me what the codes meant and assured me they were caused by the car having had a dead battery. They reset the codes and sent me on my way in 15 minutes with advice on how to avoid this issue in the future. Great guys, sure seem honest and ready to help. Will be sending my TSU kids here if his car needs service.”
“Google shows he's open on Saturday but he said he really isn't but since he was there he take a look at the leaking tire. Found a bad core in the stem and replaced it then refused payment.

“August, maybe September 2020 this place changed my life. I was poor, unemployed, and traveling North for work in my Ford van; transmission hit a rock, leaking fluid, towed it in to them. I begged C&R to take me ahead of their existing customers, even tried to pay extra, a bribe, but they wouldn't do it. made me wait a week or more! I was sleeping out back in my van behind their shop, waiting for this simple repair to happen.
well, while waiting, I happened to meet the love of my life! a wealthy widow on vacation in Kirksville. she lived back East, in Maine. we hit it off, I moved to Maine with her, we're married now and I'm wealthier than I could ever imagine.
so thanks to the crew for taking 9 days to do a 3 hour repair job for a traveler on the road. you were terribly terribly under-staffed back then. but the price was very very fair and the work held fine. she's still running! the new wife got us a much nicer camper van. Mercedes-Benz. we use that old Ford to haul garbage now.”
