First, im glad they were open(night of the superbowl), second, got me right in to take care of my dog. She had on going diarrhea, and at that point I wasn't sure what to do. However, they did, and im grateful for it. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. Your doggie having emergency issues? Then this is the place to go.

This is my favorite emergency vet in St Louis. They are so friendly and caring. I have gone to them multiple times from putting a dog to sleep to just receiving treatments for my cats and even ferals i take care of. Almost every time I went I saw someone new and they never disappointed me - everyone that works here is great. Especially Dr. Branscum - sweetest and super caring. Thank you guys!

If I could give them zero stars I would. Dr. Blake is TERRIBLE. All she did is accuse me of neglect the entire visit, just to in the end tell me that my dog has cancer which explains the weight loss. She was extremely condescending and showed that she did not care for my dog at all. The tech did jot seem the brightest as she acted as if she could not recall my phone conversation with her. Dr. Blake also recommended I look into euthanasia, so obviously I was emotional and crying, so when I started asking question again she replied “I just told her all of this”. I would NOT recommend you all take your pet here at all. I recommend VEG in Brentwood.

On a Saturday morning I was woken up by my dog being in pain an a swollen spot on her belly. I called a different emergency clinic and they could not see us until later in the day. That would not work. I called Animal Emergency Clinic South and they took us right away. Dr Lisa Sanborn and the staff took immediate care of us, gave us medication and we were on our way at a reasonable costs. The medication had a fast acting result and all is well now. Thank you Dr Sanborn and the staff.

They treated us well when we took our dog in. We ended up having to put her down which was so very sad but the staff there was very accommodating and supportive.

Dr. Kayne and Ashley were so loving and caring with our cat - and toward us. We are so thankful that we still have sweet Frances with us and we attribute this to their fantastic emergency care.

Very caring staff. Wish they had endoscopy services. Frustrated I had to pay before services were rendered. Overall good medical care for my puppy.

Works place ever. Brought dog in got checked in. No other animals. My dog was vomiting and diarrhea. They took her back and caged her. She barked for 15 minutes straight. Another dog came I. For toxicity and of course doctor came down stairs for this dog. Meanwhile my dog who can't keep anything down is left in a cage. I told them give me my dog and left. Only take your animal there if it is in desperate need and no other place closer. I have been there many times years back but it is changed and they suck.

We brought our puppy here after he fell off of a retaining wall in our yard. Everyone was very nice, and we felt good about the visit at first but once the vet got X-rays back that showed our dog had two broken femurs, everything changed. The vet became very discouraging and negative. He told us he didn’t know how they’d do surgery on this issue, that it would be extremely expensive, and made remarks like he didn’t know how we would even care for our puppy. He even suggested another option would be euthanasia. They sent us home with some low grade painkillers and anti-inflammatories and told us VSS would reach out to us. Our puppy couldn’t walk or use the restroom on his own so we were frantic and called VSS the next day, multiple times. We ended up taking him into VSS and they were astonished that the original vet didn’t send our puppy home with any sort of Brace or Sling, and with the lowest quality of pain killers. They took him in immediately, told us how common this surgery actually is and how doable it was, and assured us that our puppy would live a happy and wonderful normal life. The surgery was a fourth of what the doctor at this vet quoted us as well. It was just wild to us, after being informed of how this should have been handled, that the original vet appointment went as it did. This clinic may be good for your mild and every day cases but as an emergency option, I’d steer clear.

Took a puppy in, after hours, in an emergency situation. Zero cars in the parking lot besides mine. Had to sit on the phone w the front desk for 20 minutes, answering question after question (including providing my driver license number…?), getting put on hold, etc., all while this little tiny puppy was dying in the back seat of my truck. Tech came out, did a parvo test. About 15 minutes later (not the 8 minutes they said it would take) I was allowed to enter the building with my dog. ZERO urgency displayed by the hospital to this point. We were shown to a room and got visited infrequently by more techs over the next hour, with the puppy continuing to suffer and no real urgency displayed by anybody other than me. Eventually a vet gave me a couple options and I opted for inpatient care. Less than 24 hours later the puppy died. I’d like to believe that my dog received the best care possible and everything was done for him that could have been done, but given how this place handled everything beforehand…I have my doubts. I won’t ever take another animal here, emergency or otherwise.

Took our 6 month old puppy here for a UTI (holiday weekend, our normal vet was closed for the next three days) so understandably the wait was long (4.5 hours total) for a non-emergency. The vet tech was lovely and did a full vitals check including a rectal thermometer with no issues. Finally the Dr. came in, and barely took time to say hi to our dog before bringing out the stethoscope. Our dog growled and jumped away which has genuinely never happened before, and didn’t happen with the vet tech earlier. In fact we’ve only ever gotten good notes from our other vet during exams and nail trims. If it had happened before, I obviously would have taken precautions to avoid that. The reason for the 2 stars is that the Dr. proceeded to basically reprimand us for a few minutes about our puppy’s breed, training, etc. before I finally interrupted her by just saying “I understand, I understand.” I COMPLETELY respect that our puppy consequently needed to be muzzled to continue the exam for safety reasons, and we were happy to do so. However, it was inappropriate and unprofessional to scold us nearly to the point of being in tears.
