First time diner at Wasabi. First off, I can't believe I am leaving a 5 star rating based on the circumstances tonight. The food was excellent...some of the best sushi I have had in a while. But the place was packed...a complete madhouse...it was $7 roll night plus the night before Valentine's Day. Placed our order quickly and were excited for our rolls. The wait on our sushi order was over an hour which under normal circumstance would have me ballistic. What made this a 5 star experience was our amazing server, Michelle. She was incredibly good at her job...managed our expectations from the very beginning regarding the wait time for sushi and why things were going to take longer than normal. She also repeatedly mentioned that she hoped the long wait would not impact our decision to come back in the future...and is exactly what happened because of her care and attention to the situation.I dine out every day and was so impressed at how she managed our table. It is truly a rarity in this day and age to have someone so poised, professional and friendly able to manage our expectations the way she did given difficult circumstances. Thank you, Michelle!PS. we ordered the Philadelphia roll, the Batman Roll, the Yummy Roll and the Spicy Omega Roll...all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious...our favorite was the Spicy Omega.

Michelle knew the menu very well and was very accommodating. She kept my husband’s water glass filled which is a big feat. Great food and customer service. Very appreciative and sincere. Will definitely be back and will ask for Michelle.Kid-friendliness: Many people bring children. It is a nice family place while not too loud. Couple friendly.

Done in or take out, the food is always good and fresh! Calamari is always very dry/overcooked but everything else we’ve had has been 10/10 ?

The food was so good. I wish you could get this quality of sushi rolls on a buffet. So good. The fire added a nice visual touch but didn't really add to the flavor.

The waitress was great, but the food was not tasty. Their raw salmon tasted like ham. The Yaki soba was flavorless and mostly eggs. We will not be returning. Hope the food gets better for the rest of

"Wasabi Sushi: A True Hidden Gem"As a California native who's lived in New York for years, my experience with sushi spans over four decades, giving me a keen sense for distinguishing the exceptional from the mediocre. Wasabi Sushi stands out as a shining example of culinary excellence, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating in both taste and presentation. The highlight of my experience was their "Incredible Roll," aptly named for its luxurious lobster filling. Each bite was an exquisite blend of flavors, capturing the essence of what premium sushi should be. This dish alone makes Wasabi Sushi a must-visit for any sushi connoisseur.Beyond the food, the service at Wasabi is commendable. The staff exhibits a genuine pride in their offerings and a commitment to customer satisfaction that enhances the dining experience. This level of care is evident in every aspect of their operation.Wasabi's location in the Midwest makes it a rare find. While there are numerous Japanese sushi places scattered across the region, most offer only subpar experiences akin to food court quality. Wasabi, however, is a culinary oasis in Kirkwood that stands in stark contrast to these establishments. It's worth the drive to enjoy sushi that is prepared with such skill and attention to detail. In conclusion, if you're in the Midwest and craving phenomenal sushi, don't settle for less. Wasabi Sushi is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience, making it the go-to destination for anyone seeking authentic and expertly crafted sushi.
