Mark and his staff are wonderful. They went above and beyond when filling a special order. I received service that I would never have received at a big box hardware store or home improvement center. Use these folks they are the best!!!

Prices are higher, which is understandable and I'm willing to pay higher to not drive further, but, they are constantly out of stock on the basic items. No exaggeration, out of at least 8-10 visits in about a 3 month period, they were always out of stock of something very basic I needed. Brought to store managers attention and he assured me that things were getting better and they had it under control now. Tried again a couple weeks later....same thing...went for two items, shelf was completely empty for one of them......once again. It is worth it to me now, from Gravois area, to pass by this one and continue on to Sunrise Beach (True Value just opened up and they had things in stock!) or Osage Beach big box stores. Turns my trip into 3 times longer but, at least I can get what I need. I would much rather support the smaller companies but this one has lost me for good, both at home (I'm from near their orginal location in Kearney, MO), and here at the lake. Way too much frustration and time lost to deal with them anymore and, to top it off, management doesn't care. They do have a couple of good employees that do care, but things are out of their hands.

Very helpful, knowledge employees. I plan on using their facility often. Prices are reasonable. Next season I plan on going there just to leisurely see all that they offer.

This hardware store is exceptional. Lots of workers to help you find what you're looking for or give suggestions. Everyone was very friendly, and the merchandise was priced similar to a Walmart or Lowes.

We have been patrons of Porters Building Center in Laurie Missouri for 20 years.I hate going in to the store. They are not " the place of the helpful hardware man '"They are rude, condescending to woman, lazy and act as if it's a bother if you ask for help.They have a monopoly here is Laurie Missouri. No competition so their prices are ridiculous.I try to order what we need from Amazon to or drive to a bigger box store. But sometimes we have to bite the bullet and grit our teeth and give them our business.I have given up hoping that things will change.
