We drove around all areas of the park and stopped at the visitors center. We had a great time, and when we go back, we will take the tour that is offered. The free stuff to see at the visitors center was really fascinating, and there is a lot of information. We went down one of the many trails and enjoyed the scenery. There are plenty of picnic spots! The park is well kept.Dog-friendliness: Many people had their dogs with them, and they have dog poop bags to clean up after your dog.Picnic area: Beautiful picnic areas with grills.

Great place to visit for outdoor activities, also its free to enter the park. There's a nice beach in the cove, great in the afternoon as the trees shade the swimming area. Also fun to walk or bike around the lake trail

We did not arrive in time to visit more than the Mill tour. (Last tour at 4pm) Learned some new things about sheep, wool, fabric, labor, machinery and the strong brick building that was only purposed for thirty years. Staff seems happy to be there. It is a very long drive with many roads branching off to reach the museum. There is no river next to the mill. It was steam powered. There are so many trees that it is nearly impossible to see what is waiting up ahead until you reach a clearing.

This is a great little state park. It’s quiet and clean. There’s a small beach for swimming, the lake is great for kayaking, and I loved cycling on the roads in the park and around Excelsior Springs. Dogs are welcome. Hosts were kind. Bathrooms are clean!

We had a great time there, but the children were too tired. It took us 4+ hours to go around the lake.

First time here. There is a trail and boat launch. The swimming area was what I liked. They have it sectioned off and there is plenty of space. Very clean and kept up. If you bring kayaks you have to go to the boat launch area to set out, even if you want to swim. There is fishing allowed too I believe but nit in the swim area. I look forward to going back and going on the trail.

Beautiful place. A lot to access. Will never stay there again. Patrol very rude. We were attacked for being in the road too long, yelled that they had “been trying to call us!” Our phones had no missed calls. We tried to explain that the space below us was in the road having trouble parking. Still wanted to yell. Decided to attack my nephew for having one tire in the mud, but not in our drive. Made him show his license. Just complete overkill. Never apologized for his mistake.

This is one if the best parks I've ever stayed. Peaceful, lots of trails for bike riding. Swimming, fishing, abd now they rent kayaks..had a great time . Will go back..way to go missouri...only thing I had issues with is rhe raccoons...we had the coolers out and they opened the cooler , got in our pack of lunch meat and took the meat left the package . He did this in front of us..so they are not scared...lolRestrooms: Very clean , they clean these twice a day so im.impressedDog-friendliness: You can bring your dog as long as they are on a leash and don't barkPicnic area: It's all top of the line ...from where I was at..

We had a lot of fun. No one bothered us and the price we paid for the nights we stayed was amazing. I definitely recommend if you want to have a peaceful stay not to far from the city. Also, the amenities are free. Idk about the laundry facility but the showers are hot and u limited.

Hubby and I rented an RV for the weekend, best camping trip ever. Very clean, quite, kind staff, beautiful lake with nice trail and the Elms Spa is just about 20 min away for a little self care and relaxation!

This place is absolutely beautiful. Peaceful, relaxing and quiet. Very clean and well maintained. Campgrounds are slightly small and crowded together, but are well kept with exceptionally clean restrooms and spacious showers. Big swimming area and sandy beach. Always a great place to go
