DON’T RECOMMEND!! This place was dirty, disorganized and the staff was extremely rude and didn’t any to take accountability for their actions. Trucks are not maintained well. DIRTY!!!! I have never had any trouble with U-Haul it’s the location.

Nice place... friendly, knowledgeable staff... Clean facility... awesome to have a garage area to load and unload... only drawback was the garage wasn't long enough to back a truck and trailer over 12' long... guy next to us had to leave the door open while he loaded his 16' trailer and in came the humidity... other than that, great experience...

Kylea was excellent and outstanding from start to finish of the van rental experience and securing storage.
Plus, the first month storage was free with the round-trip local van rental, which only had 171 miles on it and was brand new.
The entire facility is clean and well maintained and the double entry secured doors with drive-in access to the temperature controlled facility is great.
It was the best U-Haul vehicle rental and acquisition of storage experience I have had had in my entire life.
I’ve been renting for almost 40 years, raising 10 children with my three sons being Army officers and seven awesome daughters.
This was my first experience of renting U-Haul storage, versus other storage facilities that I have done business with over the decades.
U-Haul’s provision of locks for the storage is a great bonus because I usually have to pay an exorbitant amount for those at other storage facilities.
Kylea was the best and I highly recommend this U-Haul facility, especially for those renting and looking for storage in Lee’s Summit and Eastern Jackson County..

I had no issues with the actual rental. The problem is with how they went about charging me.
What happened was the “hold” on the money they put on my account when I rented a van went through and took the money out of my account. That isn’t a “hold”, that’s a CHARGE and the employees need to use different wording when they are explaining it.
when I showed up to return the van, I was informed I had to pay the grand total, not just the difference that I owed (65 or so miles I needed to pay). I didn’t know that I would be charged the “hold” and the grand total. Now my account is in the negative because the “hold” hasn’t gone back into my account. The 2 people at U-Haul storefront I talked to said the money should’ve already been in my account but when I called customer service, they said it takes 3-5 business days, which no one informed me about. Customer service gave me an authorization code to give to my banks customer service to release the money early , but my bank customer service had no idea about this and couldn’t help me. Now I’ll get an overdraft fee because U-Haul hasn’t given me back my money

Horrible customer service. Tuesday the 28th I had a reservation at 8am. Kylea (I believe her name is) did NOT show up to work to open the store u til 815. At this point there were 3 groups of customers waiting at the door. Then when I went to pay she said she couldn’t accept the type of card I was using. I’ve ALWAYS used this card at U-Haul. So I went outside for 30 min, said I was going to figure something else out. 30 min later I walked back in WOTH THE SAME CARD, used it without showing her what card it was, and it cleared. Just like I knew it would. Got the U-Haul returned it. Then I get a call Saturday morning at 8am while me and my family are sleeping about the remaining charges for extra Miles I had driven. This is not a problem. I expected to pay this anyways because we did drive more miles than we initially thought we were so that is not the problem. The problem is that on the day of they charged my card $50 and And I was told I had a remaining Balance of $78 again for the miles which is fine. However, upon charging my card without confirming the amount for me, she told me it was gonna be $78 but then I got a notification that it was for $128 so then she overcharged my card. She said the $50 that was paid the day of would be reversed. But it’s not pending, it’s fully posted. So it won’t reverse unless the store issues a refund. Not only this, she said “I’m running your card for $78” then ran it for 128. I’ve never had this issue at a U-Haul. We travel for a living so All we have ever used is U-Haul, so with this kind of sneaky stuff and trying to tell me I can’t use a certain card when that’s all I’ve ever used and then it WORKED when I didn’t show her what card it was, and her trying to over charge me twice, is insane. Might look into Penske

Quaint lovely storage facility!Tucked away in a quiet location off 291 in Lee's summit, behind Genesis Fitness, that you'd never know it was there unless you visitlocation. I adore that feature! It's also extremely cute, super clean, and the friendliest staff ever!
