Greeted by happy dogs! Great service, very knowledgeable, and fair price! They were willing to take us out on a float off-season when others would not.(Due to off season they only accepted cash. Just FYI. )

Loved it!!!! The people that run this outfitter are good ol' country folk. Lovely people. I've floated about every river in Missouri and have dealt with many outfitters. Franklin floats Excels in this area. Black river beautiful as always. Will definitely go back. Will go in June when the river is up a little more. BUT, had a great time nonetheless. Thank you Franklin floats for your very kind hospitality. The doggy? was a bonus. Until next summer have a blessed fall and winter. Jessica a.k.a the girl wearing the plant shirt

I liked the people they were friendly and professional. What I did not like was the water was way low and we dragged most of the way. From my professional view i would be more apt to go there again in June. When the water is up more. But had a good time otherwise.

I've used Franklin Floats for the past 10 plus years a dozen times, and have recommended them to dozens of friends over the years. Let me explain my disappointment recentlyMy wife and have have 2 little kids, we were always able to float in one canoe, however this year the owner insisted that he would not allow it - which to me is just a greed money thing i.e. instead of paying $60 for one canoe he gets $120 for forcing us to rent 2 canoes. My wife can't control the canoe well and this ended up being a disaster and my solution was to tie the canoes together so that I could steer. We came to float a second time with another family and I thought that I could convince him to allow us to use one canoe as I explained the problem we had last time (I even offered more money), nope would not allow it again. While you could argue slightly more wear for the canoe, I think it's minimal to none - we never drag the canoe and let's be honest - these canoes have paid for themselves probably 100 times over as they are used for 10, 15, 20 years and retinted out 100's of times - once in a while they may add some JB weld to fix a leak.anyway old hippy Franklin I guess it's all about the money instead of the service or loyalty to loyal customers

Nice short kayak trip for a quick run. Can kayak in 2 hours or so if you don't stop. Only 2 low areas to pull kayak.I wouldn't kayak this again but I would definitely float it. Lots of great spots to stop for a swim.

Absolutely love floating here! I always make sure to visit multiple times every summer. Best river, views, and service in the state. Highly recommend for your next float. No reason to float anywhere else.

My friend and I camped and floated last minute. When I called, Franklin was so helpful. I really wished we knew about them before. It was ones of the best floats I've ever had on the Black River. Franklin, his wife and Bob were very down to earth, welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay there. I will definitely be back. My son, his wife and her family will really enjoy it as much as I did. I'm really looking forward to my trip. ???♀️?♀️?️

We didn't end up going rafting but we called and inquired about details and they were awesome to talk to and explained all of our options and were willing to work with us.

Love this locally owned Family business. We've always had the best time using Franklin Float's whether it be camping or floating. We've made so many amazing memories with family and friends my entire life on the black river. Excited to get back on it this summer. See y'all soon.- Aubrie Cole, Andrew, and Austin too

As soon as we got there they asked if we were ready to get on the bus. I began gathering our stuff as my other half went in to pay. Apparently there was some confusion and he was being asked if we called, which we did a few times, and they couldn't figure out what price we were paying. This was a bit unsettling, not sure if different prices are used based off if you made a reservation. Never got any clarity on that. We paid $125 for a 4 person raft with a reservation made over a week in advance. They also seemed to not be able to find the reservation, maybe it was because I was the only one to speak with the gentleman on the phone and they weren't expecting a man to pay?The bus rides were an experience. They don't sound like they will make it through all the hills and turns, but somehow they do!There were really nice parts of the float, but always double check levels first! Gauge was at just about 1.3 ft and we walked a very good portion along with pulling the raft (2 adults and one child in total). It was our first time floating so we had no idea about the route etc and didn't get a map/info because they just needed us to pay and get on the bus that was waiting. We had to settle for just watching the other Franklin rafts. I luckily spotted a couple rafts at the pullout and we headed that way just in time before we ended up passing it.Fortunately, we also ran into a lot of friendly floaters that helped us navigate a bit to avoid some shallows and told us how far in we were on the trip.I would go again, but if we do we will be arriving early and calling the day before to confirm the reservation so there's no confusion. We will also check the river level beforehand too!Side note - normal/medium sized coolers are welcome in the rafts!!! When they say large they mean the ones that are basically the width of a vehicle that take 4 people to carry!

Great place to do all your camping and floating with. Very friendly people, great prices and all the entertainment a person can handle. Franklin Float's makes it easy to relax and enjoy your floating experience with flexible times when being put out and picked up which helps make the floating experience that much more better.

Glad I trusted the Google reviews and went with Franklin Floats :) Franklin is such a friendly dude, as is everyone working there. This was our first time ever doing a float. We did the raft with two adults and 3 young children (4, 6 and 9), and they provided life jackets for our kids.We did the short float, and someone was waiting at the landing are to help spot us, but that won't always be the case so look carefully for the sign after the bridge! It did take us about 3 hours, which was perfect for our family. The Black River is gorgeous. The trip had the perfect amount of calm spots and teeny rapids - just enough to make it fun and exciting. There were a few spots we had to walk the raft because of a downed tree, and we hit a few rocks and got stuck, but it was super fun.If you are going rafting for the first time too - take these tips. Bring a cooler! You need lots of water/drinks and some snacks. We took water resistant backpacks with gatorade, water and snacks, and were the only people without a real cooler. Just bring a cooler, it'll be better ? Load up on sunscreen, and take it with you.
