This beautiful campground has very attentive management but the security staff was very threatening, after 10pm there were some campers blasting music while our group were trying to relax and watch the stars by the fire. The security guard came to our campsite and flashed his lights straight to our faces told us if we continued to our relaxing night by the fire (we had no music nor kids nor screaming was generated by us) he was going to kick us out off the campground… just to be seating by the fire after 10pm… if that’s not allowed they should have rules and signs so everyone hides I. Their tent after 10 pm. it’s irresponsible to kick someone off a campground specially because we had around 4 campsites reserved and some people were already sleeping and some had heat stroke after our raft. Secondly the old guy was very rude and impolite, and third we did not go to sleep because other campers were blasting music so we couldn’t rest anyway. We were very polite with this security guy… and he treated us like we were delinquents. He was so outrageous with his attitude Making our relaxing weekend and beautiful experience there the most awful and embarrassing, we don’t even drink, we were with a sober group of yogis enjoying nature. The worst experience we all had, and we will share this to all our community so no one has to go through this traumatic experience ever again.Safety: I personally felt very threatened by the security guy at night. As he kept giving rounds with a car that had no signs that he was the park security… we approached thinking he was a lost drunk person and we wanted to help him find his way, immediately he came out flashed his flashlight on our faces and almost attacked a friend when he was asked what was happening… we were very confused and concerned… this guard was very disrespectful and he never said who he was until we said we were going to call the police… we have never been treated like this, was very scary that a person with his authority had this access to people… we will never go back.

Great campground with reasonable pricing and fantastic atmosphere. Such a great place to unwind and unplug. The access to the Black River is fantastic and even on the hottest days of summer it's the best place to spend time. Spring fed and refreshing cool. Really low light pollution at night as well. It's nice to spend some time in nature where you can see the Milky Way and swap stories around the campfire but poo in a real toilet.

Easy to locate, clean, maintained. Staff were incredibly helpful as my other campsite fell through late at night. Thanks for the accommodations!

Great place to camp. We have been coming here for several years now. Love the staff, they always welcome you and treat you great. This year instead of floating about 30 family members just decided to hang out at the river. This place is always well maintained: grass cut and clean campgrounds!Safety: Always felt safe here.Walkability: You can walk right down to river… less than 1/4 mile.Food & drinks: Most soft drinks and water.Noteworthy details: Black River flows next to property and is crystal clear

-The tubes could be better-We did not camp so I can’t comment on that- The bus driver who returned us to our vehicles after the float was beyond speeding, very scary and dangerous. Recklessly driving.

Been going to Parks Bluff for years with five star experiences. So I guess I was due for a bad year. Seems they have changed their policy this year and they don’t allow dogs in rafts which is fine by me but, They let me rent a raft and didn’t say anything about the new policy nor did I see it posted anywhere. Came time to get into my raft and the beach worker told me no dogs allowed in rafts. I said ok can we switch to a canoe. He called the office and told them we were switching and said they would refund my card. Couple days go by and they didn’t refund me. So I called and was told they would not refund me the difference. At this point it isnt about the money. Lucky for me there are other places to spend my money and that’s what I will be doing.

Very hard to rate this place. The location is amazing for camping, and the river is my favorite in MO, but the kayaks we rented were bottom of the barrel. Very old and beat up. Not a single one out of the 15+ they brought to the river had more than 3 hooks that weren't broken, and never 2 across from each other so it was darn near impossible to tie down my cooler and dry bag. Thankfully I brought bungees and rope, but it still was a s**t show. I love the place but they definitely need to fix that situation.

Great sites! Some are not quite so level. Great atmosphere in the evening if the park is thin. What kept me from five stars though was the showers need some work.
