We called on a Friday last minute to book a weekend stay and spoke with Lily. I told her what I was looking for accommodation wise and she was incredibly patient and helpful with making sure the best campsite was booked for my family and I. She even went out of her way to ensure we would be comfortable with our site. Unfortunately since this was a last minute trip we would be arriving a bit later then preferred but Lily stayed a bit later to make sure we arrived safely and was checked in. She was very kind and welcoming even though she had to stay a bit later waiting for us.Main check-in lodge has a little shop with everything you could need for your trip that you may have forgotten or even just a little treat for the little ones. Also great price on firewood bundles! Our campsite was clean and very well shaded right on the river. Some of the other sites seemed a bit smaller but are perfect for a simple couple looking to get away from the busy city life. They also appeared to have bigger sites to accommodate families or groups of friends. The views were beautiful and aside from one noisy group it was mostly quiet and peaceful. Yes the bathrooms are not luxurious but I've never been to a campground where they were. Showers are free and get the job done. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with TP, hand soap and paper towels.Considering this place is owned and ran by a small family, they do an amazing job of keeping this place an affordable, clean, family friendly experience. We will definitely be back and hope to see Lily and her husband again! Thank you for keeping this place a great vacation spot to create enjoyable memories.

It is always a wonderful experience when I go to this campground. The staff is amazing. Mike the manager there is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Lillie is amazing at running the store, and their helpers Tanner and Adam are extremely hard workers. On whole , amazing place to go. Thank you guys !Nearby activities: The floats are top notch

Black River was gorgeous and a great float. However, this review is for the campground, which is zero stars across the board.Upon check in, the older lady with gray hair at the front desk was extremely rude. After attempting to clarify the price and charges multiple times (of which she herself couldn't calculate) she made rude comments about me, in front of me, directed towards my wife. She then threatened to cancel our reservation. She rudely then told us to wait for the cardholder to be present (we were the first to check in among our group). The entire front desk seemed unorganized - everything is pen and paper and calculator. I never was complaining nor was I upset about the pricing- I was simply trying to clarify what rates were being charged and she took great offense to this. One of our group is also military, and when more of the party showed up, she refused to honor military discount, because the cardholder specifically wasn't military. She wouldn't even give the one military member a discount on his solo camping rate! The campground was also disappointing. Dirty, rocky, and small. The bathrooms were disgusting and not well kept. The women's bathroom was constantly out of soap and toilet paper.Overall, a terrible experience. I would 100% float the Black River again, however I would 100% not stay here again.

The restrooms need attention, asap. The showers are in terrible shape and the step down out of the ladies restroom is hazardous. This is too beautiful of a spot to let the facilities go like they have. We will not return until improvements have been made.

My group has being going there for 20 years! The reservation is always the same fri-mon but a few of us come in and pay separate from the group for Thurs. But since the employee that handles the reservation quit we were charged for all 6 sites for Thurs to Mon! At $40 a site! They didn't give me a receipt stapled it to the reservation. But still charged us again for all the sites! The bathrooms have never been great but they were absolutely disgusting! Hair on the walls and it looks like someone lost their weave and it was there the entire weekend!Yes, Lily at the desk must have a bad day everyday! (As I saw in her apology to another review) She does not know the meaning of hospitality! She was rude Everytime we encountered her! Needless to say we won't be back!! I hope the extra money you charged us was worth it!The only thing that was positive about this stay was the view!If I could rate a zero I would!

The best sites hands down. And the owners went out of there way to make things as comfortable for me as possible. Won't stay anywhere else. And I'm 51 years old and have been going to this river since 1976

We dont camp here, but for many years have purchased a pass so we could pick up our own raffes and people who put in at the public access at the other end of Lesterville. ALL the staff have always been so nice, until i encountered the older lady with long gray hair this year. She was very rude and argumentative to me . My group witnessed her being extremely rude, argumentative with another group and for some reason threaten to throw them out over what appeared to be a booking issue. We had thought about giving them a try, beautiful beach and river access. But the campsites are small and the bathrooms not great. We will stick with where we are.....

We've been camping at Riversedge for 6 years now and have always loved it. This year however, we were charged an astronomical amount and then refused a refund. We reserved 3 sites for 2 night months ago but were not told there was a 3 night minimum until we arrived. We decided to stay because we loved the campground and figured from now on we would just pat more attention to the dates. Our friend arrived first and was charged $250 for 1 of our sites. We arrived next to pay for the other 2 sites and were charged $365. Over $600 for 3 campsites when every other year we have paid maximum of $250 for 3 sites. We will never return the this campground and I urge you to stay at a different one as well

River was very nice! But the campsites were small and dirty and the front desk person was not kind. She claimed I booked an electric site (I do not own a camper and have no reason to book an electric site) and was refusing to refund me my deposit when I asked for a primitive site. She also booked the wrong float time for me and wanted to argue about what did or did not happen instead of just fixing the issue. I usually never have problems interacting with staff members of establishments and she was incredibly unkind. There was someone in training who was nice and accommodating.

Beautiful campground, good roads in the campground, great place for family camping with a play ground area for kids, really laid back staff are always helpful and respectful. Been coming here for 7 years. Directly on the water with a huge beach. Hot free shower houses, camp store for all the things you forgot, and they have bands on Saturday night, and they will air up all your tubes of any kind at the drop off point for free.

My favorite place to camp in Lesterville. Nice quiet campground right on the river. It has decent bathrooms and showers. It had a nice playground for the littles and if you get the right spot you can view the river from your camp site.

Rust campground, bathrooms are in disrepair and the roads a very rough, camp grounds are jammed on top of each other , but with all that said it got the best spot on the river in lesterville, Missouri
